No notification when someone comments on your post

Hi Guys,

We have our forums up and running for a while now and one of the biggest issues we have is, when someone comments on a forum or blog post there is no follow up email to alert you that your post / blog has a comment.

Is this something I have set up incorrectly and is it possible to fix.

Comments on blogs and posts are going unanswered

When someone comment on your content, you get the notification:

In forum you get email notifications when you explicitly subscribe to the forum topic.

How difficult will be to add a code, where it point the exacly link to the comment. ?

Because it only show links to profiles.

Thank you for that, I've put up a notice on the forum to alert members to this. It's actually not intuitive, most of our members don't click subscribe to their own posts.

Just a suggestion, but a tick box "get notified when someone replies to your post" might be something worth considering.

I second that. I also had a message added to the forum pointing out to users that they have to subscribe to their post in order to receive notifications since it is not an obvious thing to do.

It would indeed be very useful to have a tick box at the end of a post as mentioned by Patrick.
