do you have "Use GD library for image processing" checked in admin>settings>advanced settings??

No need change any permissions at all. Revert it back

So, seems you have problems with your GD library,

try to disable it and use imagemagick instead.

So just goto admin and remove check from USE GD. Don`t forget to save.

But, if you want to use GD, and you have troubles with it, just reinstall your GD

Has the captcha block gotten removed from the Admin > settings > Builders > Fields Builder > Join Page possibly?

Someone said they fixed by reuploading the /simg directory  .....

css style gone wrong...general.css  look for and remove head_cutting.gif from .main or .boxcontent

i simple right click on the page lets you know that an image is the bg and not simply a color.

lets remove that first

still wont show? uncheck gd lib in admin..save and see

I have video tutorials to help you mrpowless.com

My GD works fine on the server for many other applications.

If you mean general.css from Templates\base\css then the word 'head' or 'cutting' doesnt exist in the file.

Thanks all but problem still there, any other suggestions?

I asked because... if you also have imagemagick installed (as I do) then you have to uncheck 'use GD library'

having said that, I also asked before looking and your problem is different to the one that I had. I had an 'image cannot be displayed' message in the place of the captcha, you don't even have that.. Sorry if I appeared 'rude'..

Check your server error logs for any server side restrictions.

remove the .htaccess from

simg/images

simg

etc.

This could help.

This is how to solve the problem:

Assuming your server is equipped with GD Library and you are still having the problem, then go to the folder in your server's "File Manager" and access the "simg" folder. Delete ".htaccess". Finally, access "simg / images" and also delete ".htaccess" here as well.

All done, God willing!
