News RSS Auto Importer Mod Support (Modzzz)

This is the support forum for the News RSS Auto Importer mod.

Hi.

I use this mod with modzzz news, but mod work not properly. I add rss url - http://feeds.feedburner.com/iphones/ru. The text of the news only gets description news, not the news.

Sorry for my English.

The mod will import whatever is available in the RSS feed itself. So if only the description is made available in the feed, only that will be imported. This mod is not a scraper. It will not scrape a site for the actual content. It imports the content that is made available in the actual RSS feed.

I have installed news rss auto importer with boonex default news and create a rss feeder for url http://feeds.huffingtonpost.com/huffingtonpost/LatestNews but it do not work.

its do not give me any error.

The module uses a cron job process that is executed nightly to import the feeds. Ensure that your cron job is setup and running (setting up the cron job is a part of the Dolphin installation process).

How to setup cron job in boonex ?

I have setup these three cron job properly

* * * * * cd /home/mylearn0/public_html/periodic; /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/php -q cron.php
* * * * * php /home/mylearn0/public_html/periodic/cron.php
* * * * * php /home/mylearn0/public_html/test.php

And module too with feed URL but its did not working.

I know I sound dumb but after I installed and configured the RSS feed url under this Mod, how can I get the feeds show up on the news page? 

 There is a cron job that is set to run nightly that will process the feeds.

Patch 2.0.1 Released. (See patches/version_2.0.1 folder in zip file)

Added the option (when inserting imported feed items) to use the published date of the feed item.

Patch 2.0.2 Released. (See patches/version_2.0.2 folder in zip file)

Modification made to the Categories functionality to be in synch with the Sub-Categories feature added to Ultimate News module.

This is only needed if you have this RSS News module integrated with my Ultimate News module.

@mika_p - Unzip the file. Look in the patches/version_2.0.2 folder and you see a readme.txt file with installation instructions.

I wanted to see if i could just have the HEADlines run and NO snippet and if you enter " 0 " it won't just leave the headlines.  Can this be set so that just the Headlines show Modzzz ?

 Are you talking about the actual display of the News entries on your site ?

 It did work , but leaves a txt area hole underneath.

Added the ability to load feeds based on language.

This is now compatible with Dolphin 7.2 . For those upgrading from Dolphin 7.1, re-upload the module files.

I have installed  two folders  boonex news and modzzz into module folder.  In the admin panel . 

There is no listing under "Not Installed Modules"

At Dophin 7.2   modzzz  2.03.  failed to installed..

The module comes with two zip files. You must install one of them, not both.
If your site is using the default Dolphin News module then you use the "Boonex News" zip file.
If your site is using the my "Ultimate News" module then you use the "Modzzz News" zip file.
You are getting an error because you installed from the "Modzzz News" zip file and you do not have my "Ultimate News" module installed.

If you are unable to figure out the installation, you can send me your site details and I will do the installation for you.

I have figure it out. Now  I got this working.. Thank you for your explanation.
