New Look of "Add This" share buttons

Not sure if a topic has been created about the "add this" button here before but I thought I'd share a new one that looks cool on the site and has some animation to it  demo here

Its really good... how to add this in site?? where to put the code?

This is very simple...

I have included the files to use...

take the stack.txt and put all of this code in a banner, mark the position left or right.

The second file includes the images in a zip file, expand this file and upload the images to a folder in root you create called "images"

clear your cache and should work...

yah.. it diappears some time, n needs F5

if it is disappearing then you have overlapping banners..

banners in dolphin "rotate" so if you have a couple banners set for the "right" side of the site..they will rotate, thus you loose the share-stack

make sure you have only one banner for the stack, if you have other banners there like google adsense then add the stack.txt to the end of the google code

Exactly. I would really appreciate it.  I think I have a little idea on how to do it based on your stack it file but better ask you instead to be sure. I still want to know how you got those images from add this also.

look at buttons in newton's demo site using ur addthis link..  i find bucket share button more attractive..

did you get yours installed stargazer?

both examples are installed on the demo site, saurav121 is right, the stack looks better and is static on the page..

did you decide on what format?

Sorry it took me awhile to respond back.  Been quite busy lately.  Anyhow, after testing and much thought, I have decided neither one.  I went with www.sharethis. com instead.  Don't get me wrong.  Both buttons were great but based on the need and the look of my website, I went with sharethis.  It is more user friendly and customizable.  it did not interfere with my other apps and mods and dolphin.   Thanks for the help though.

yeah addthis button ws interfarin wid some links.... for ex- in video/photos block on homepage it hide latest/top/random links

I guess if your screen reseloution is set "low" this will not show in the white area like my examples here.

Theses are options, I use it because it is static, stays viewable by the member, so if a page is long and they decide to share something at the bottom of the page, they can see the stack.

As you see I have the like button embedded in the template, but it is not static, its stuck at the top of every page, some pages get very lengthy in forums..

can this be added into the header as well instead of the quote?

 the stack.txt is in the banners feature not anywhere else, images are stored in their own folder.

you could edit this line perhaps in stack.txt

.stack { position: fixed; bottom: 28px; right: 40px; font: 13px "Trebuchet MS", Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #666; }

but the way the pop "up" works bottom right just seems like the correct place

Bummer, I tried to add a share this as well as this add on to my new dolphin site and nothing works, no wibiya, nothing. Anyone know where I can go to get some troubleshooting help? I have 3 MU WP sites and a php forum that humm right along but this dolphin site ( I wanted to make it the cornerstone of my brand - seems to have a bunch of issues.

A simple cut and past and folder drop ?

I have blank page blocks that I cannot delete (after trying to install share this in a banner) as well...buggy.

 you must clear your cache when making changes.

the wibiya script seems to work best when added to your banners.

 I tried to put wibiya into the banner and left or right shift it after moving my dolphin toolbar to the top- it wouldnt display.

 I just dropped this ad this stack images into root in image folder, copied the stack.txt to my banner and enabled it- it screwed up my style sheet where my admin home page is white and I am unalbe to make any changes to anything on my community.

Can anyone dirst me on what file i should replace from original install?

Can your un-tick the banner text and test site?

if you look into the stack.txt file, it is set for the root images folder,

for this to work correctly on your site, you need to add this to each line that points to the images in the sub-folder, 

<li><a class="addthis_button_facebook"><span>Facebook</span><img src="../outdoors/images/facebook.png" alt="Share to Facebook" /></a></li>

 I hadn't realized that...

so I updated the line referenced to /xxxxx/xxxxx/images...(for all image locations)

And <img src="/xxxxx/xxxxx/outdoors/images/stack.png" alt="stack"/>

then tried /xxxxx/outdoors/images...

The rendered in both addtesses but sat static on top of each other. If you over mouse they would flip like a deck of cards  and the page took 10 sec to load.

I think I will write them static into a block.

This is really strange...

If I clear all cache- the image doesn't render at all...

If I update my banner it does instantly (but unfortunately it stops my scrolling image frame from scrolling) if I dont clear my cache...

I am new to dolphin , I'm a phpbb3 WPMU guy but it shouldnt not be the protocol - more the server eh?

 Hmmm, it's a brower issue.

It renders fine in chrome when i drop the code into a homepage block but will not display on ie this way.

The images scroll and itworks great.

I left it up on my page until I can get a minute to drop it in overall footer to try it again.

Anyone have any luck implementing this? I like it- its large and animated. People will notice it it just isn't consistent. It would be great if more browser compatible.

Ok, I give...It kills the footer toolbar  when placed there.

Too bad it doesn't work with IE in a block.

It doesn't really make any sense to use "Add This" on your main page when your using a Splash Page which requires signup, so I added this code to the splash page & I have to say it looks fantastic on all browsers.

 I am not following your logic A visitor would click add this but not join? I suppose if they were sharing it with a specific person or suing stumbeled upon.

 It looks as though you have it installed now. Shows in IE and Chrome.

 Strange, I can't see it on ie 9 and my toolbar is missing. Is it ie 9 that is causing the problem?

I am using  IE9 to view your site and I see it fine, although when clicked on nothing happens.

Did you insert the code in a banner and set the position for right or left?

I have not joined your site to see if the member menu bar goes away.

I have not heard of this interfering with the member menu, now wibiya bars do affect it.

When applied, promo banner dispalys only the first picture, it's not rotating. Also, the pop-up panel when hovering a mouse over thumbnail is not popping-up anymore. Anyone knows how this could be corrected?

What's worse, it killed simple messenger chat as well, sending chat messages does nothing...
