Could have sworn AndrewP has this (or at least another questionable captcha) for sale. BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |
As of dolphin 7.1.3 it most likely will no longer be needed. Bad news for me tho. My Anti Spam just fell into the crapper. https://www.deanbassett.com |
Could have sworn AndrewP has this (or at least another questionable captcha) for sale. Yes he does, I found this long ago and wanted someone to check it out. I guess as Deano states, something has changed in .3, I have had little time to check the changes. ManOfTeal.COM a Proud UNA site, six years running strong! |
@deano92964 The new antispam tools in 7.1.3 improves existing techniques and add some new ones, it should stop most of spammers, but this technique will not block 100% of spammers, I'm hoping for 90% at least. Also new tools should contribute to the global war with spammers, since there is possibility to report spammer, once reported - all Dolphin sites (and many other software) are ready to use this data. I believe that existing 3rd-party modules and practices will be still actual, since they use different methods and can increase chance to stop spammers. One more advantage to use 3rd-party modules is that automated spammer tools are made for default distribution, adding any other custom techniques broke these tools as usual. As of dolphin 7.1.3 it most likely will no longer be needed. Bad news for me tho. My Anti Spam just fell into the crapper.

There are a plenty of custom captchas, long ago, I made few related blogs with reviews of available captchas: captcha collection 1, captcha collection 2 and captcha collection 3 I believe that the more unique captcha is, the more difficult to bypass it
