Hi Everyone,
I have been with my current Hosting provider for 10 years. They have always been really good, but it appears they got bought out by someone. For the past two months they have wiped out five of my sites. Instead of apologizing and correcting the problems they keep wiping out my sites after I reinstall them. Now, I cannot reinstall Dolphin. So, I need to find a new VPS hosting company.
If you know of a good VPS hosting company that can handle Dolphin and will not drive your crazy with restrictions, but will leave you alone providing you pay your bill, then can you recommend them to me?
Thank you.

sbg101,
Thanks for the link. How often have your sites gone down in the last year?
I'm sorry, I can give you stats on that time period, as I've been with Zarconia for a little more than 2 months.

Hi, I am with Zarconia and have been for about 8 months. They are excellent and understand the Dolphin script exceptionally well. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Stuart038 and sbg101,
Do you find their tech support team knowledgeable and focused on problem resolution? My current hosting company used to be extremely knowledgeable and reachable via phone 24/7, but now I cannot talk to a live person any longer. I have to go through a ton of tech support reps before I find one that is more knowledgeable than I. The majority of the ones I deal with are rude, argumentative and nasty without providing resolutions to serious problems.

Prashank25,
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check them out.
How is Cloud Hosting better than VPS?

Stuart038 and sbg101,
How long did it take to setup your account when you signed up with them?

How is Cloud Hosting better than VPS?
I am not sure, could be wrong on this. However, I think cloud servers are set up so that the changes to the system can be done on the fly; such as increasing ram, while if you make changes in the VPS, they have to rebuild the virtual server. I know when I had the VPS, when I increased RAM, they had to take the server off-line while the VPS was rebuilt. When it came back online, the site files were missing (virtual hard disks you know) so that had to be dealt with.

there is no one better at dolphin hosting then host for web .. www.hostforweb.com tell them i sent you! MY SITES http://viptopia.net general social networking | http://www.rangerschat.com/ niche site |
We just started with Zarconia.net for about 3 months ago, can highly recommend them.
Brilliant support, very cheap(using their Z800), super product AND highly competent in terms of the Dolphin script.
So far we written well over 100 tickets with them(NOT due to problems, ONLY because we are new in terms of Dolphin and dedicated server use - got many questions), they are always very friendly and competent in the way they respond. Despite the large timegap(from Scandinavia) we never experienced to wait more than 15 minutes for the reply - it's hard to do better in our eyes! Plus super important when running a community/Dolphin site.
********** 10 out of 10 stars from Scandinavia. Keep up the good work guys!
Regards
Lisa

I would recommend Zarconia, I have been with them for only 2 months but will move all my sites to Zar and buy a dedicated plan.
Top notch support and friendly.

Hi,
I'm not going to recommend any provider but want to make you aware that there are so many criteria that can make a provider the right or wrong choice for you. I think a lot depends on the knowledge and skills of the person requiring hosting, not to mention the geographical location. If you don't have out-of-office support and you live in Europe and your provider is in Australia... It might make things complicated.
You also need to keep in mind where your visitors are. The closer the server is to your visitors, the faster pages get loaded (although there are others ways to accomplish that).
I run my own dedicated servers and have full control over them. Never the less, I have them fully managed and don't need to look after hardware or OS updates. To me this totally worth it, only a few weeks ago I had a broken raid controller and it would have cost me 5 hours or so, just to get to the datacentre.
Anyway, don't just follow recommendations. Set requirements and prioritise them, than start looking what a good hosting provider could be.
Good luck in finding the right hosting provider for you!
