Naming problem... possible bug for 7.09

Hi all,

Just thought I would mention this. I had someone try to join my site today with the user name: latinobeat

and it would not let him join. This name breaks no format conventioins and is not on my list of banned names.

But sure enough, when i tried to join with the name, the same thing happened. It would not let me use it.

I have esases nicnames suggestions module (which I love and recomend) and a names filter. But none of these should have caused the problem.

I have hundreds of genuine registered users and am getting many new each day but  this is the first and only time it has spat out a user name.

I joined the site with the name latinobeat1 - the site let me join. I then went in as admin and changed the name to latinobeat  and it worked fine...

This is very puzzling.... Has it happened to anyone else?

Nathan

Doesn't sound like a Dolphin bug.  Can you check this on the demo site (demo.boonex.com)?

I did not have a problem using that nickname on my 7.0.9 site.

I do not think it's a dolphin bug.

Thanks guys... I have nothing like this set in the filters... Just the obvious swear words etc...

I will have another look at it tomorrow
