No I havent a clue but you might find that they were all signed up with promotional memberships they last for 7 days :O) you can i think log in as admin go to each members profile .. go to admin panel click on members then click on each members name in the column usernames . this will take you to the edit profile of each member ,,
click on the set membership button and select standard membership type ,,

Hey Mingle,
Yes I have tried that, when a new user joins, say with id of 34, it is overwriting the existing user 34`s account......this is a major issue for me as im having students sign up as part of a class demonstration :-( |
I am sorry but i haven't experienced that sort of problem ! Good luck

Thanks anyway Mingle :-) God no`s what is going on here, but it has put a dead end to my project.... |
Can you just turn off promotional memberships so that when they join, they've fully joined and won't be defaulted to a different membership level after 7 days? |
as for members disappering, this has been something in the past that had happened but it was due to a setting for pruning accounts that were inactive in x days. that could be the case here, not sure.
however, what i find concerning is that you state that if a user signed up last week, and the UserID=34 and that member by choice or happenstance gets removed from the site, the next user who signs up is assigned UserID=35. the logic and structure of mysql does not allow for UserID to be reassisgned, and because the code is written that the INSERT INTO Profiles the UserID is ascended incrementally on auto-increment, there is no logical way for UserID=34 to be reassigned after it was previously used, unless you specifically do something in the database. you can tweak the UserID=12023 when you INSERT INTO Profiles, and the next registration you get would auto-increment to UserID=12024, but would not revert to any number lower than that.
so i think you may have some other issues here that are non-related to dolphin. When a GIG is not enough --> Terabyte Dolphin Technical Support - Server Management and Support |
