Your mysql server is not very happy!

I'd restart the service.

Thanks, i have already restarted all the devices connected to it, up to my electricity's meter.

It didn't work.

I am Googling on how to increase that memory's limit, so far i only found people suggesting to look elsewhere...not very usefull, so i keep looking.

I will post a solution if i will find one, in the mean time, please don't be shy and beat me to it by posting your solution here first!  Laughing

Prizes to be announced after a workable solution will be found.

go to inc/classes/BxDolDb.php at line 26 chank it to this

define( 'DB_FULL_DEBUG_MODE', true );

I am fed up of posting this on so many topics. Yell

This doesn't belong to fun and foo. No fun at all :)

so much to do....

I followed some of the suggestions i found so far, as increasing the PhP memory from 128M to 512M, but mine was already on that limit so i made it extralarge  to 1024, then i went into this BxDoIDb.php but i couldn't find anything to increase there, still in the dark

your DB tables are crashed. Go to phpmyadmin and select the 'Profiles' tables and in the bottom select repair.

so much to do....
10 Aug 2012

Yessss, thank you Prashank25, that solved the problem!

I don't know why this happened on the first place, as i wasn't doing any extra stuff and the website it's still very basic and with very little content (no videos/files or anything larger than a pic, and there are only a few now..).

You just won my unreserved gratitude Laughing

Thanks again!

I have encountered the same error before and I was doing the same thing just testing on localhost server. Never had this error with any other CMS and I've tested about 150. This problem should have been addressed and fixed by version 7 huh right?

11 Aug 2012

I don't know why this happened on the first place,

It just happens. It does not require you to do anything.

  • Why does your home computer suddenly go nuts forcing your to take it to a repair shop?
  • Why does your car break down when it was running fine yesterday?

Just some real life examples of sometimes @#$% happens, and there really isn't anything you can do about it.

It's one of the important reasons as to why keeping regular backups is important. Because one of these days, a database table will crash, and a repair will not fix it, or the repair results in loss of data. So keep backups.

What? Database crashes is somehow a code problem? You have to be refering to something other than a database crash.

Listed here are most of the primary causes of database crashes. http://advikasingh.hubpages.com/hub/MySQL-database-corruption-Causes-and-Tips-to-Repair-MySQL-table

And none of them are code problems in the script that using the database.

As I ALSO stated, Dolphin is the only CMS I have tested that has ever produced this error in my personal experience.

Really? In your other post you said you had the same problem due to the version of PHP you were using.

Switched from PHP 5.3 to 5.2 and it installed with no problems. I've had problems with installing other CMS using PHP 5.3 so I think I'll avoid using it unless it's stated as a requirement.

That was a different problem. If you had read the other thread then you would have realized this fact. You don't seem very intelligent "mscott".

In summary, Dolphin has the hard coded problem discussed in this thread and the problem discussed in the thread that "mscott' referred to.

If you were somebody like me who was still considering using Dolphin as a CMS or social network builder I'm sure you are now having serious doubts about it and also the Boonex community. It is obvious that when you report a legitimate problem about Dolphin you will be harassed and the ones responsible for the harassment will not be held accountable for their behaviour. Thank you "mscott" for making this so clear to myself and other potential customers.

To those of you still looking for a website builder, I suggest using Wordpress as a CMS and Buddypress (a Wordpress plugin) or phpFox as a social network builder. Both are very stable, easy to install, easy to operate, and offer great support. You would also enjoy a thriving, friendly, and helpful community.

And yet I can install Dolphin without all these "coding problems" you seem to be running into.. Laughing

Yea. Guess i will keep my mouth shut. Sorry. I seem to have started this, and all if was trying to do was point out that any bugs in dolphin cannot cause this specific database issue. Your post made it sound like it was dolphins fault, but in this case it is not, and i wanted to make sure the newbies understood that.

I have put my foot in my mouth in the past, and i must stop doing that as people always get the wrong idea.

I am in no way saying dolphin does not have bugs. I know it does. I was just trying to correct what sounded to me to be inaccurate information that would scare the newbs.

I've never had those problems as well, after hundreds of installs.

We are very helpful here, most give up because it's a bit more complicated than those other CMS's your referring to.

[edit] Meaning no offense to you, if you are really new a member, Deano,  and Mscott are highly reliable and very, very skilled at Dolphin and server setup's or what ever..

Sarcasm usually is responded with the same type of answers.

This problem should have been addressed and fixed by version 7 huh right?

Softaculous is the WORST way to install.

[edit] this is the most reliable way to install, very detailed and to the point. Laughing

Ah. I have heard a lot of complaints about that. The Softaculous installer for dolphin is not very reliable from what i hear. I do not trust it. I always install by hand.

If you had read the thread you wouldn't have written a stupid post.

You're posts have been full of insults, warnings for people to not use Dolphin.. and even a request for another member to be "seriously warned" for offering to install Dolphin for a fee. I tend to not put too much effort into those types of posts..

And don't use Softaculous,..

It always amazes me when I read these kind of post's by new members, you would think they would do some home work before throwing the insults around. Also, who is going to help a newbie with such an attitude?

MScott, Newton27 and especially Deano are well respected and helpful members of this forum, they offer their support for free and without them and others like them, this forum would fail.

D7 is a complicated but very powerful script, a script you can do more with than almost any other CMS. Wordpress and it's add ons, whilst powerful and good at what they do, they are not as capable or as configurable as D7.x.

As for Softaculous, forget it, you are asking for trouble as you've discovered.

Don't insult the only folks who provide free support around here.  You'll soon find nobody will respond to your topics and Dolphin will become upset and leave with your girlfriend.

As said, Softaculous is unreliable.  Most of the problems I have had with (other people's) Dolphin (sites) is because the person used Softaculous, which used corrupted files.  I know some hosts like to push their auto-installs, but I don't recommend it.  It's not that hard to install Dolphin, and knowing the integrity of the files (and thus the overall install) does help.  If a problem happens and the person used Softaculous, I always tell them to start over, because that won't be the only problem.

Welcome to the forum joebeck.

Dolphin requires a very specific server configuration. From what I understand you've tested over 150 CMS apps. That is quite a number and even spending 5 hours on each, that is several months of testing. I'm curious to see the top 10 CMS you've tested.

As for using WP and BuddyPress, while they are good choices for certain sites, they aren't remotely close to what Dolphin is capable or can do.

For now, it may be helpful for you to go over the Help section and FAQ. There are also 3rd party sites that will assist with various tutorials and downloads.

Keep well everyone and be nice.

As I ALSO stated, Dolphin is the only CMS I have tested that has ever produced this error in my personal experience.

Wow, we are offering help.. your still insulting.

If you would start over, explain your problems after you do a fresh install, on a server that meet's/exceeds the minimum Dolphin operating environment.

Get your errors, post them here; or actually link to the site with the problems.

You would get all the answers you need.

This introduction you have presented is not taken well by some members obviously.

Welcome to the site BTW.. Smile

@Joebeck

Mr. Joebeck, you need to take a chill pill . I read your earlier post raising hell about someone who offering to assist you for a cost instead of just refusing. This is a helpful community with a group of very helpful members like Deano92964, Newton27, Prashank25, Mscott , HoustonLively, Nathan , etc.  These individuals go out of their ways to assist members who need help and do not need to be insulted for making suggestions that could help.  We are all mostly adults here and insults are not taken kindly. You may be knowledgeable in certain areas, but you don’t know it all. Just, in case you do, then write your own code and don’t bring animosity to the forum and spoil the helpful spirit of these guys
