My new version of FB Connect.

A new version of my Facebook connect module will be released soon. Posting here also because i need testers before i release it. The market and jobs forum no longer shows up on the recent topics page which decreases the visibility of those topics.

If you use this mod, or are considering getting it, please test it out on my site. http://www.deanbassett.com

There are a number of fixes and enhancements. Release log below.

I do have one I think important question.

When asking for the member if they want to import photos, can there be a limit or other options?

I know Facebook accounts for models with thousands of photos, so it is a bit weird on that part.

For this testing i just changed the join redirect to member.php instead of pedit.php to try and prevent confusion.

That's planned for one of the future versions.

I will also be doing a separate more advance photo importer module in the future that will have tons of features, but that one will be a separate module. The built in one will have limited features. But i do plan on adding import limits on the number of albums and number of photos per album.

I still have other requests for the mod as well. It's getting quite big and the number of options are getting overwhelming for some people. Thinking of also breaking those options into tabbed sections in a later version as well.

You login, then unregister. Then reconnect with FB.

There is no need to revoke the FB permissions unless you want to test the part where you disallow the FB permissions when prompted which have also been fixed in this version.

Was very fast this time; did you remove the import for the photos?

Recommendation. When a person has completed updating his or her profile, it might be better to redirect them to their profile page?

Very nicely done Deano... I'll be updating my site as soon as it's done.....

Beyond my control. Once facebook connect turns control over to dolphin(pedit.php) it's done.

You could do a pedit redirect mod, but facebook connect has no control over that.

Nope. Response times are determined by two factors. One is how fast facebook is responding to requests. The other is how fast your server is running. I have a ded, it may not have been under heavy load at the time you tested.

Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's slow. But most of the time it depends on how fast facebook is responding to requests.

But yes. If i removed the photo import feature, it would be much faster.
