Multiple Profile Types

Is it possible to have different profile styes with different fields? For instance I have a site with musicians and need different profiles for muscians and fans. When someone registers that can select the type of profile.

Not possible with the base product, but there are some good mods for that.

Hi.. Is it now possible for admin to add more profile types instead of just 'single' or 'couple' ?

Just wanted to repeat this question by tharwat, but now in connection with Dolphin 7.04..

I ask this because as can be seen here :  http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/ProfileFieldsBuilder  that there is a field for 'profile types' available in the top right corner of the builders section, of the control panel.

Is this something that was available 3 years ago, but not now, or is there a way we can add different profile types?

Thanks

Newton27 has suggested the right mod, I too am studying this right now. From what I understand you will need to also purchase a split-profiler or something like that. All these mods are by AntonLV. So look in his collection of mods for all related ones to having different profiles.

Andrew Boone promised to incorporate the mod referenced in this string last year in one of the updates. he specifically said they reached an agreement with the creator of the mod. alas, here we are in 2011 and where is this? it is the primary reason i have started experimenting with socialengine. the network and profile type capabilities of socialengine blow away the existing boonex abilities.

Specifically, He said it would be included in 7.1

This is a joke. practically every other social networking software offers this basic item. it is my biggest frustration with boonex and ridiculous it is not a core item. does anyone know the software used to build this site www.mislabeled.com

We can't make all your requests. We did base structure for dolphin. And all next version will contain some improvements

PS: If possible do not write me personally, please try to ask on the forum first

Good question man. That site looks cool. I'm also wondering what software they are using.

the core software they used was Elgg with massive modifications. However, similar to boonex software it lacks network settings. Social engine provides great custom profile tools and allow a wide range of network settings however its code is clunk. I have given up for the time being my network goals.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
