Multiplayer online games

Is there anywhere I can get some multiplayer online games like poker, Uno, hearts, spades.. etc etc on boonex? Just a few games. I'm just curious. Thank

Yes, this would be awesome.  Are there any two player (or multi-player) game scripts that could be integrated easily into Dolphin 7.

I would also love to see something like blackjack, poker, and maybe even chess...

I was looking at an interactive trivia game where the members could "chat" while playing the game. Unfortunately the developers never responded to my email though.. That would have been cool too.

There are a few php/Mysql based MP games that work fairly well, but they are a bit cumbersome, and just don't have the sleek look and feel of flash based MP games.

Hosting multiplayer flash games is not trivial.  You need to set up a flash game server, which will require a dedicated server... no shared hosting provider will let you run a flash game server.  Just a few years ago, there were no publicly available  flash game servers.  If you wanted MP flash games on your website, your only option was subscription based MP games that used someone else's game server.  I know..... I searched the far corners of the internet for this sort of thing.

It seems as though things have changed quite a bit in the last few years.  I didn't do a lot of searching, but it didn't take long to find this:

The games aren't cheap, but it's a one time fee:

We were talking about multiplayer games.    That game zone does seem like a decent app... too bad it comes with such crappy games.  As soon as I get my IPB integration done, there's an outstanding free arcade addon for it.... Demo of the arcade slopped into D6:  Click here

There's about 8,000 flash games available for the IPB arcade addon, and I think over the past 3 years, I've looked at every single one of them.  Of that 8,000, there's only about 500 that are worth having.  Another problem with a lot of those 8,000 games, is that a lot of them stopped working with the arrival of flash player 10

I have the Game Zone module installed if you wanna take a look at it. PM me for a test login and you can see it in on my site if you want. Although it comes with 4400+ games, you can add any flash game you want, add categories, etc.

You can pretty much find other free shockwave games on other websites to add to it if you want. I purchased it not only for the games but also because you can Battle other members and start championship matches as well.

What you should be doing, is removing about 4,000 of those 4,400 games.   I've had an arcade site for about 5 years, and at least on my site, users really hate lame-ass games.  If I install a crappy game, I'll catch hell about it until I remove it.... I can't just tell them to not play it... they want it gone.  I have about 600 games on that site, and there's quite a contrast in the number of times each game has been played.  The top game has been played over 11,000 times, and the least played game has about 20 plays.  Flash games are definitely one of those things where more is not better.

I think the reason my arcade users want crappy games removed, is so they don't have to keep playing them to take away someone's high score.  Usually, it's not just one user that wants a game removed... they all complain at once. Even the high score holder complains because they don't want to keep defending their high score on a lousy game.  The site is mostly adults.  I don't have to worry about high school kids on the site.... they join and play for a while, and pretty soon I'll have about 100 kids from the same HS on the site.....  until the school finds out and blocks my site... which is ok with me.   I'm mainly going for the goofing off at work crowd.  There's a company in Dallas with about 900 employees, and the last time I checked, about 30% of them were registered on my site.  Every dolphin site should give people a way to goof off at work.

Thanks guys!i I really appreciate it!   I already have Dolpini Game Zone. It's an awesome mod but it doesn't have multiplayer games.  I just checked Houstonlively's links and that's exactly what i'm looking for. :D  awesome website!  Thanks

I'd love to be able to add a game section for mt site members. Is there a simple way to be able to do this or is it necessary as houstonlively says to have a dedicated server to get things done.

Any help with this one would be appreciated. I'm not a programmer or coder so some of this stuff takes a bit out of me to figure out.

So any help or thoughts on this one would really be appreciated. I checked out houstonlivelys site and yea, very cool and right along what I'm thinking of.

Thanks.

Is there a larger version of those microscopic widgets?  Those hurt my eyes trying to see them.

Love it, but I agree with houstonlively.  Is there a way to make this bigger.  You can see it on my site at:

No.

Our line of games (Damn Small Games) where made to replace normal banners that gambling affiliates use, the reason is our clients where complaining that their banners where in affective and wanted way to stand out from all the others.

So we built these games....Later on in the year we will be making larger versions but not anytime soon. Right now we are working on Bingo, slots and Roulette once those are down we start building different sizes.

The Flash game server and the recomendation from HoustonLively is what I have been looking for to. How hard is it though to integrate that into Dolphin so registered members have instant access to those games using their Dolphin username?

I also have a text based massively multiplayer game, like Mafia, that I want to incorporate into my site, but it requires a separate login. Is there a way to combine databases so one system uses the Dolphin members tables?

I suppose if you place them in a Dolphin page and configure that page to only display for logged in members, it should work just fine.

Of course, I've forgotten how to go about that.

Cool..... glad someone finally put these games in Dolphin that I mentioned three years ago.  Maybe by 2016 someone will put out a decent gps fitness mod.
