Multi-player game and Dolphin Integration

I've been able to create a little multiplayer prototype with a leaderboard. I also figured out a protocol that allows me to interface the in-game view with Dolphin and vice-versa. Everything from images, video, and all the database stuff.

If anyone wants to have a quick spin at a very simple game, you can try it here:

It's pretty simple, run and collect points and throw snow balls at each other.

I'll post my progress and let you guys know how it goes, now that I have the foundation working pretty good. I work on it now and again when I'm waiting somewhere or when I need to do something different.

Interesting start, but snowball battles just aren't the same without the sting of getting hit in the eye.

I want:

Chess

Checkers

Backgammon

Battleship

Wrestling or car racing game would be a gud idea for multi player games in dolphin ;)

Some of us prefer traditional, grown-up language.

As the need for using computers will only increase in necessity, how about some typing programs to help people be more proficient on a standard keyboard (as opposed to developing arthritis of the thumbs with just texting)?

If that was done in the form of games, it would help take some of the monotony out of the repetitiousness of traditional learning.

Some games similar to these would be great: http://games.sense-lang.org/

I had asked a US developer about making a relatively simple game for my site with four to five levels. His price tag of nearly $3400 was a bit much.

Please consider this!

Updated the scoring mechanism. Submits scores to leader board properly. The count was working but now the actual final score submits.

Pressing the shift key whilst pressing one the WASD keys makes the player run smoother. Depending on network traffic, the run is definitely improved.

Added a way to integrate scores in real-time by submitting it to the shoutbox. Another way to report on scoring.

I'm doing server back-ups and working on mapping out another Dolphin integration. On my break, I'll be testing it out at:

http://jtadeo.com/testgame/

As well, there is a chat function. At some point, I will make a mobile version of this chat that will integrate with Google maps. I know how to do that.

...sip...

Cool. Did not realize you were working with unity. That's the same system i have been playing with for a few months now.

No time anymore. Maybe in a few months after i catch up on some bills and am not working so much i'll have time to get back to it.

:D I signed up at Unity3d since 2006 when the CEO himself was fielding tech questions.

Deano, let me know if you ever want to collaborate! PM me. I'd love to build something cool for the community etc. We can do all kinds. I know exactly what you mean about bills...nothing's free, so it would have to be based on a hobby schedule. I've been working on this over the past few years and I've built it up to this so far.

I'm also doing turn-based gaming via mobile using HTML5 and socket servers. houstonlively mentioned chess, checkers, battleship, and etc - hope to try making that and doing a Dolphin integration.
