Monetizing a domain

Posting in phoo forum as not dolphin related!

Ive purchased a ton of domain names over the years, quite a few intended for potential dolphin sites but never launched past the good idea stage...

Have put some up for sale / auction, interested in cash parking though.

Anyone have any experience in this?

Have read some forums, some people say it can work well, others say they make nothing (usually ones who are parked with godaddy...)

Google were doing a g-adds parking for undeveloped domains which was rated but has now stopped.

Anyone making any money with parking?

no clue about parking, but I know for a fact there is money in buying and reselling. Create a new premium name and just turn around and sell it. A few times, I bought names and within days, people were calling me offering to buy it through GoDaddy domain buying service. A good, but crooked, idea is to look for bands or small companies that haven't bought their domain yet and buy their name, build a website on it and sell it to them. It's mean, but it works. I would never do that though.

Yeah, I'm sure this happens more than people care to admit ... I don't think it's mean at all .... You see something that is of possible value to those that have not yet made a move and make the move for them and then bring them in on the opportunity ... It's all business business business!

Ive looked at buying selling, I own a few decent domains that could have good business potential to the right buyer.

Not sure where the best marketplace is though, godaddy seems to be far too over populated to get noticed... odds of being spotted for sale there seem minimal unless someone directly searches you.

Godaddy cash parking gets a very bad rep on forums... so many people saying they are owed money for cash parking, but godaddy then tell them they are suspected of self clicking paid links on their own URLs and refuse to pay out! Case after case of people all saying the same thing. Looks like the registrars have a way to screw you over if they dont want to pay out!

I wander what the best way to securely and safely sell a domain is? Other than paying for the transaction services of the registrar to act as middleman?

Here is the perfect example. This is what happen within the last 3-4 weeks. I was going to purchase a domain called jewelryconnect.com for a little over $1,000 USD. Somebody bought it before me and now they are selling it for $3,688.00 USD. This all happened with the past month. check out the link to GoDaddy and search for jewelryconnect.com

Just go to GoDaddy and search jewelryconnect.com in the domain search box

http://www.godaddy.com

You don't need to find "the right buyer" You sell them through GoDaddy domain auctions and other GoDaddy services.

This is proof that you can become a millionaire or even a billionaire from buying and selling domains.
