Moderators, please handle your mails

This is like the other mails I keep getting, maybe it is because I run BoonexSupport.com I'm not sure.

This is directed mainly to Nathan; I have received a complaint from a member that they emailed you Rayz about a problem over two months ago and payment to Rays to customize the chat module for $1000US, the member has paid $500 of that to Rayz, and that Rayz is hiring programmers to do his work, member is also stating that the emails here on boonex are getting deleted.

I am forwarding the message to you so I can keep this private.

I went ahead and messaged Andrew Boon, maybe he will respond to his message.

To the member mailing me, you don't have to be scared of posting your problems here, we have a "disputes" section just for this, no matter if they work for BoonEx or not, that is what the forums are supposed to be for.

Nathan, Zarcon, DanielM, and more should have responded to you by now; but from your second message I can tell no one has stepped up to help you get what you have partially paid for.

I just got the email notification about 35 minutes ago that someone sent a PM to me here at BoonEx. I am not sure if anyone else was emailed prior to that but I only received 1.

I have read the email that was sent and will be replying.

Edit: I also sent an email to Rayz.

I received no message about this problem

newton27 - This is certainly because of your domain name that you receive such a message
in my opinion you should not use such domain name as this door confusion

Fun fact: I'm a volunteer, so can't be around 24/7.  Sometimes I'm asleep, while other times I'm dealing with something else.  I try to commit as much time as possible to being a moderator here.  Please don't be upset if I don't respond within a few hours.

In this case, I only received the email notification about an hour ago, and I was mobile.  I've responded to the member, but will leave the matter with Zarcon (thanks for stepping in).

Exactly, as BoonEx offers "no support."

I'm doing very well supporting a "non supported CMS."

I might add that old members are coming to me because I seem to "take up" for the underdog.

Nathan and Daniel, I didn't forward the message as the member stated they sent an email out.

I again stressed that they post about this in the "disputes;" before they post they contacted PayPal about Rayz, what is concerning me is the fact that PayPal has responded with, "yes, we have had some complaints about this member." hmmm

I know that you (Nathan and Zarcon, and other moderatores are not paid) are not compensated for the support here, but you guys took on the role, play it.

DanielM, maybe BoonEx should cover this area as I have and fully support and answer all questions within 12 hours, not days, months...

Yes, we are volunteer moderators, and I take offence to you claiming that anyone is trying to shirk their responsibilities.  I think even as volunteers, we're entitled to a few things: (1) average sleep hours, (2) work (to pay bills), and (3) vacations.  We're not paid to be on here from 9-5, we do it because we like to help.

I'd appreciate if if you would understand that sometimes we receive messages in the middle of the night, or during work hours, or during a flight to attend a family reunion.  Sometimes the email notifications are delayed or not sent at all.  It may take a while for me to answer, but I do.  Your patience and understanding is appreciated.

tl:dr: Eat a doughnut and relax.

Cool, but you used to live here like GG does now. Perhaps she should be a moderator since you don't have the time to do it, nor does Chris... I do understand we all have lives, but you have to admit. Your presence here has been little.

Pause while I scarf down the doughnuts you sent and some milk, your package of goodies are on their way Nathan..

I was just relaying messages to members, you and Chris used to be here more than you are now.

I miss you guys presence in the forums, seems we are alone now and the new people feel it.

I don't think anyone expects a non-paid moderator to be here 24/7/52.  It is not so much moderation in disputes that the majority come here for in the first place.  It is for help.  However, when moderation is needed, it does need to be timely.  One way to do that is to have a ticket system in place so that whoever is available can take the ticket; and thus the other moderators know that the ticket has been answered and they can go on to grab the next available one.  Instead of users guessing at who to contact and having to go search through the forums to find a link to that moderators profile, just go to request ticket, enter the complaint, and hit submit.  Once a moderator picks up the ticket, then the person that submitted the ticket can be informed; and all the other things that a dispute/support ticket system does.

GG, that used to be the case.

Members could submit a "ticket" for support at a simple $5US to get help.

That was shelved so quick that members never knew it even happened.

They went back to the same "BoonEx offers no support" go to the http://www.boonex.com/forums/ for support;

hence my start up of http://www.boonexsupport.com/portal.php to help further support BoonEx.

I will admit that my presence here at BoonEx has been very limited but there are reasons for it.

1. Zarconia.Net, mine and Nathan's Dolphin hosting company we created for BoonEx members during the TBH disaster, was launched over a year ago. Every since then, most of our time has been dedicated to supporting and giving our clients the best hosting experience possible.

2. Full time jobs. Over the past several months my real full time job (the one that pays my bills - not Zarconia) has taken up more than 'normal' hours of my day. This is leaving Nathan to take on more than he can handle (at times). I see the tickets come in, the wee hours of the morning they come in, and the responses sent just a few minutes later.

3. Home life. Yes we took on the role of moderators. Yes, we do not get paid. Yes we will choose our family life over BoonEx. As for me, any time I do have free, I try to spend with my wife, kids, and/or family if possible.

Speaking for myself, I may not be as much as I use to, but I do try to at least visit within a 24-48 hour period. I respond to all emails sent to me within a reasonable time. Periodically you may see me come in and answer some questions, hides some posts, do some edits, etc. but you are right, it's not as often as it used to be.  In the end, our 'actions' may not be instantly, but they will get done.

I know you understand as well as everyone else here. We have a saying at work when things don't work the way we 'want' them to.... "It's not pretty, but it is what it is!"

I am kinda pissed that I didn't get any doughnuts though NATHAN! Yell We need to talk.

I'm sorry Chris for directing this at Nathan; listen you know that I know you guys have been busy supporting your new server platform for Dolphin sites, and I do see this, hence the slow down of problems here on BoonEx as well.

Private message are well "private" as 80% percent of my contact is via PM or emails and boonexsupport site.

I miss you and Nathans presence here, I think you and Nathan are important to old and new members alike.

Good for trust.

You guys might be busy; but we need you too.

PS, pastries are on the way to Atlanta!

Thanks Michael. No need to apologize as I understand what you are saying. If nothing else, I will come in and post something even if it doesn't make sense Laughing (Nathan already does that hahahaha.. j/k Nathan.. please don't disable the servers)

BTW, It might be cheaper to just drive them to Atlanta from Jacksonville than it would be to ship them. That way I can buy you a beer while your here.

OK GG, that means a steak, rare, and I would buy the best Red wine the house offered. So long as you take a break from here and give me a full 24 hours of your time, no BoonEx talk or I get to punish you.

Chris, I know where you live and it is only a few hours from here; the wifey should be put on full nerd alert! I'm also bringing my karaoke mic!

Michael, No need to bring your own mic. My basement has been converted into a professional Karaoke stage/entertainment room. I can power a small stadium down in here ...haha
