Mod_Rewrite: no trailing slash tries profile

Just noticed that http://cityofmemphis.com/forum (tried to locate profile named forum) and http://www.cityofmemphis.com/forum/ (goes to forum home) are not the same and they really should be. Is this a bug or as intended?

Anyone care to post up a mod-rewrite correction for .http access file ... as mentioned earlier Im a Windows Server guy so still getting my head around mod_rewrite syntax heh

Ideally I would think that system rewrites (/ads, /blogs, /forum, /photos, /sounds, etc) would be processed initially to redirect to the proper site section and then processed as a profile name perhaps?

Can a person create a profile named forum, blogs, etc.? What a pain that would be...
