Mobile mods or any mods

Hello i have a question, if you purchase a mod, should you being the buyer have the right to upgrade it yourself when the mod is upgraded? Or are you forced to use the developer who created the mod? I purchased the mod, but it does not seem to have upgrade instructions. It takes forever to have them upgrade the mod, so i wanted to ask someone else to do it for me. I don't feel its fair to be forced into having to wait on something you(being the buyer) for an upgrade. It could even help the developer in the sense that they can continue to work on other projects. Does anyone have any thoughts?
