My forum seems to be working but I cannot access the homepage. It takes you to a member profile. Other menu liinks like forum index work fine. I have run out of options including backing up with older files and databases, and searching here for any possible solution. I even tried to reinstall forum but reinstall failed. Any suggestion will be appreciated ........................................... |
Hello
As I see Forum's Home page returns the following message "You cannot view profiles as a Guest. Join now. It’s free!". May be you've restricted the access to Forum via standard Dolphin's Mebership Levels. You may check it in admin panel -> settings -> membership levels, select a level and check 'forum public read' action.

I'm a member of this site.
When your logged in and select "forums" the URL states site.com/forums/
but what you land on is a members profile..have to say never seen this one.
It's early in the day here, hopefully the more seasoned users can chime in today and help.

Tony,
The only links not working are the navigation "Forum" and "Forum Home" menu buttons, all buttons under that resolve to the proper page. i.e. "Forum Index" work and resolves to forum/?action=goto&index=1 with the forums there.
So typing the URL manually still goes to the same profile.
If I had to guess, I would start with the .htaccess maybe..

Hello
Thanks Newton, I have changed my .htaccess and php.ini files and now wish I to remove and reinstal forum module, but cannot even do that
You have a number of modules which depends on the Fomum module, therefore you cannot uninstall forum without uninstalltion of these modules. They are Store and Groups. If you provide me with test profile access info I would be able to check it.

Well, since I cannot uninstall those and even or modules that are integrated with it, does any ony have any clue what file could be missing in the database. in other words, why can't the database find the forum index since other forum navigation menu are working alright? ........................................... |
