Missing Actions block

Hello!

Has anyone encountered a problem here in Dolphin with missing Action block? I need this to add it to profile page so that I could add a "Befriend" link when somebody is looking at members profile.

THanks,
Sam

Hi Ok web.

It's not there :(

All I can see are Ids 24 to 34, IDs 89 to 106 and 112.

Is there's something wrong with installation? I dont think I've deleted it either.

The screenshot link you posted in the other thread: http://yabangpinoythecommunity.com/bugs/blocks.jpg - does not appear to be the profile page - it looks like the bottom half of the navigation menu builder.  Maybe you have already done this, but again- go to the admin panel  builder/pages builder and click on the "profile" menu item at the top.  Please verify that "actions" is really missing from that page.

maybe a screen shot of View Profile when you are loged in as a user!!

@ Caltrade: Actions is really missing. See http://yabangpinoythecommunity.com/bugs/profile.jpg

@okweb: Here is it: http://yabangpinoythecommunity.com/bugs/viewprofile.jpg

Obviously, Action block is not there. Does this block also contain functionalities such as send private message and viewing the person's friends? Thanks!

First of all, you have to be logged in as a member to see actions that you can apply towards the member you are viewing.

Secondly, the actions block does not appear in any of the builder interfaces. It is embedded in the profile.php page using an ssi script.

I stand corrected Sam- because of the earlier screen shot  that went to the wrong page I was thinking there could have been some miscommunication - clearly the action block isn't there.  I don't know why, but I had a similar anomaly once when I botched an install, so maybe you are missing some files?   Have you never seen the action block in a typical install?  It lets you private message, select favorites, add as friend- bunch of stuff.  I've no idea why yours is missing- is shouldn't even be possible to delete it.  Maybe someone here can help.

@Melia : I logged in as a user (not as admin) and I stil don't see any actions on the profile page of a person. You know where I can download this profile.php? Maybe wrong install?

@Rob: OK that confirms I'm now official screwed!*laughs*. So I'm missing a very vital functionality of Dolphin :(

Melia - what do you mean?  I just went to look at a unmodified site I did with an clean install and it is there on the profile builders page - called "Actions Menu" - are you saying it wasn't on your site when you started?

-

p.s.  If Melea says it is on the profile.php page, then replacing that would be worth a try I would think. Save the one you are using now to a different name, then get that file from your original download files (also check the file sizes to see if they are different).

Seemed you made some changes in your builder  - and just removed this block.

So I suggest you to go to your admin area >> builders >> pages builder >> profile - and reset page. It should restore page.

An update!

After messing for 3 hours, I realized that Action block is ONLY available in Photo Gallery. Please see screenshot at:
http://www.yabangpinoythecommunity.com/bugs/photogallery.JPG

Why this block is in here is I don't know.

And to back up Caltrade, Action is indeed available as a block in builders. See:
http://www.yabangpinoythecommunity.com/bugs/photobuilder.JPG

I still don't know why this is not available in the Profile page builder.

Finally, looking at this "Action" block, I don't see the functionality in this block to add a member as a friend, nor know that person's friends..or send a private message. Please let me know if all of these functions are in this block?

Thanks,
Sam

You're right Cal. It is in the Profile page in Page Builder.

Thanks for that.

sam have you tried doing a reinstall? That's what I did and mine works fine.

Quote · 6 Oct 2008

oh god..is there other options other than reinstall? I just did quite a lot of customization and reinstalling it is such a pain :=(

can I just drag and drop files from original files back to my ftp?

Have you tried my suggestion?

I suggest you to go to your admin area >> builders >> pages builder >> profile - and reset page. It should restore page.

The actions block on the photo pages has different functions - it allows you to display the original sized photo, and things like that.  I don't see what Artur means about resetting the profile page- I don't see that option on mine.  Yes, in general you can just drag files from your original and replace them.  Try it with profiles.php first as I mentioned, but back that filel first in case you want to reverse.

update - I assume Artur means click the "new page" in the upper right - I would try that first.

Artur! You're the man!!!!

Thanks man!
Sam

ps: Oh those huge blue links in the Action blog sticks out like a sore thumb. You know how can I edit the contents of this particular block?? Thanks again!!

Quote · 6 Oct 2008

@ Rob: there is a "Reset Page" option right beside "Add column" link in the upper right section of your Active block. Reseting the page worked OK, man I almost reinstalled the whole thing!

You will be able to edit empty blocks only after will reset them. (I guess now you can make it)

p.s. And for future - don't delete any block - just move it into inactive block. And after changing name of block - don't leave it empty.
