Messages on Boonex dot Com

Shouldn't something light up somewhere to let us know when we have a message here on Boonex?

Yes, something.  I also noticed that I don't get messages in my local email as I use to do.  I also subscribed to a support forum and never got any notices about new posts.  Not sure if something broke or was removed or what after the new upgrade of the Boonex.com site.

I'm receiving both forum and PM emails. Check your spam folder in case they're landing in there.

I'm getting the mails, but not a front-end indication that I have mail; visible when in the forum.

I either have to go in to the Account/Messages section (to see if anything is there), from those three horizontal lines, or log-in to my e-mail account.

There's nothing else up the top or down the bottom.

I'm guessing it was overlooked with the newish navigation.

This has been bugging me for ages but I've only just got around to mentioning it.

The Menu hides it, but there's an Account icon with a number badge for any licenses/notifications you have. It doesn't work on the forums because it's still a separate script and not fully integrated with the rest of the site. But if you visit another page and check, it'll show something like this:

It used to be that the most common menu items were in the header. I don't like hiding everything like it's on mobile - there's a lot of wasted space on desktops and other larger screens.
