Menu Issue, speed at which it works

Bumping through the D7 site, I'm seeing an issue that is going to annoy the crap out of me and is probably going to annoy the crap out of the end users, it's the menu.

Speicifically, what I mean is when you choose a tab in the Main Menu and hover on it, it opens the submenu as it should, however that is where it ends being user friendly.  As you mouse down over the submenu items to get to the ones that you want, if you come down it to quickly it removes the drop down on you.  You literally have to hover for a 1/2 second or so over each item in the submenu to be able to keep it there and get to the ones on the bottom.  Now, I know I'm not some super fast freak at hopping from main to submenu and we have billions of users who can move a mouse faster than me, but this thing is designed for the old person to use it and anyone who regularly uses the net will just get frustrated with how it works.

Also, if you come down it on the left 1/2 of the submenu no matter what the speed it puts the submenu away as you get down to the 2nd menu line.

I would be much happier to see boonex use a menu closer to the CSS menus that Aramis has created for D6, they work much smoother and do not care about the speed you move from item to item.

i don't have any issues in firefox with the menu  but in i.e 7&8  just can't keep up with it

Same issue here. Works fine in FF, but problems in IE. Seems like quite a few of the problems are happening in IE and not in IE. Maybe not optimized for IE yet?

Same here. In IE7 the menus are nothing but trouble.

I don't have that problem in FF.

I'm finding part of the problem with the menus is if there are any buttons "under" the drop down. For example go to Sounds. On my view the dropdown with the green "+" falls on top of the Add Album and My album buttons. The menu looks like it drops behind the buttons. When you start move down the menu, the moment it touches a button, and you can't avoid it, the menu collapses.

This was reported on Jul 24, 2009 @ 01:36

(it was *actually reported before this date, but this date will work to prove my point(s))

Try using the search function before re-reporting bugs like this next time - friend.

The search box is that area towards the top right of the page with the magnifying glass on the left of the text input area. I'm sure you knew all of this before making this post. You were just trying to show that your report was more important than all of the others. Am I right? - I'm just going on your own words here - pal.

Do a search - *FIRST* - next time. That IS what you preach, is it not?

................................................................................................I'm just saying.

(of course you might have seen my post and just decided to re-post and take credit, but I wouldn't pretend to believe that you are really that small)(well.....................)

SEE MY POST HERE - BUDDY

The fact that Boonex chose to ignore the myriad of bug reports that I have posted is their bad. That doesn't change the fact that you re-reported.

Don`t worry, I see your post - http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/#topic/Submenu-s-Disappear.htm

today I commit several changes regarding navigation menu:

* (IE7) - submenu appear under profile thumbnail, notification box, and also under Login/Join buttons

* (IE7) - submenu disappear when we perform fast moving over elements

* possible something else, don`t remember.

So try to update base menu class + top_menu.css to check (from repository)
