An issue with the Timeline integration has been fixed. Download again and re-upload files.

 Yes, it does.

A couple of things:

1) It would be a good idea to have a counter hastags . Trending topics.

2) the hastags that are added to edit a video , photo not work

It would also be very interesting autocomplete.

Removed integration with media modules (Photo module etc.) as these modules do not all HTML in the Caption.

It is the only change ?

I use hastgas in modules such as videos and photos. Will they stop being available ?

In an email?  If so, does it link directly back to the post where the user was mentioned?

Notification is by email . It would be interesting also receive notification of the mention on the page.

Yes, notification is done via Email and there is a link to the site section where the mention is made.

Question

The Mentions and Hashtags module doesn't seem to work or integrate with the Module EVO Wall. 

This is an very improved module over timeline.

Any idea if you are going to integrate it anytime soon?

@omenicus - The mod cannot be integrated with EvoWall because the EvoWall module strips out the links from posts made.

An update has been made to the module. The following folder is updated :

modules\modzzz\mention\classes

 Updates to the procedure for extracting the mentionable names from a post.

Question: Will Hashtags and Mentions ever integrate into the EVO News Feed..

Unknowingly I purchased an expensive MOD thinking that Hashtags and Mentions would be able to work with the MOD. Not so. Now I have a Good News Feed and a Good Hashtag and Mentions MOD and neither work together. Neither mod has a disclaimer to my knowledge that the mods only work within the BASIC Dolphin MODs. So I am out a sizable piece of change with no way to fix it to my knowledge.

I am hoping that there will be an update that will integrate MODs other than the Basic Dolphin.

@omenicus - All mods on this site are sold with guarantee of compatibility with the core Dolphin script only.  Regarding integration with EvoWall, I agree it would be good if both mods work together, however there is nothing I can do from my end. The EvoWall strips out links from posts. You can contact the EvoWall developer and ask them to modify their module to allow that functionality. I will also try to reach out to them.

I just now got this installed. Pretty cool.  I thought it took you to a page where everything that had ever been #hashtagged under a particular hashtag would be there.  However it actually just prefills in the sites search form an delivers content based on that search term which is still pretty cool.  I am with the other guys on evowall integration and the choice to do site notifications only or both email and notifications.  I would also prefer just notifications as my members already get a lot of email just from notifications alone.  Overall I happy though good work.  I love the mentions more so than the hashtag.  The EvoWall module owner posted they are working on ideas for a big facelift for EvoWall this winter.  This would be an excellent time to create a relationship between these two mods.  Thanks.

Did I read correctly that this does not work with the Photo and Video modules?

 Photo and Video modules are supported.

I bought this module, but mentions aren't working correctly.
In the description you mentioned:
With this module, mentions will automatically form a hyperlink that connects to the mentioned member profile. The mentioned member will also be notified.

The link to the member's profile works, but the member isn't doesn't gets an notification / mail / message.

Check your Spam folder.

Aha... What's the reason why people don't get an notification in the spy menu (member menu)?

It's a bit misleading, because you assume people get an actual notification instead of an email that get's placed in the spam folder.

How can we make this an actual notification in the member menu spy?

Improvements made to the notification process. Now there are three options added to the Settings :

a)Notification by Inbox

b)Notification by Email

c)Notification by Spy

Each option can be turned on/off

Replaced the files and folders with the new ones. Uploaded sqlupdate.php to my root and runned it.

Having trouble updateing to the latest version. It seems to be stuck at 2.0.2. I followed the patch instructions but still no joy. can you help please?

Fixes issue with integrating third party modules. Modules that were not properly integrated are removed when the patch is run and you will have to add them back to Mentions by using the "Add Module" feature.

The problem is resolved. Two files have been uploaded.

Now it is working ( on Dolphin 7.3.3 )

Just picked up the mod & I'll start by saying this is hands down one of the most important and valuable mods. Members are already well aware of these sorts of linking & the use of "#" & "@" are everywhere, even in television & movies.

One big question, does this integrate with your twitter module (which I picked up couple days ago). I think its a no-brainer it should be fully functional in that of all places since that is supposed to mimic twitter (the creator & primary source of hashtags & mentions).

Also, I notice when trying to add 3rd party modules (even some of yours) it doesn't show a full list. How do I add ones that aren't showing up?

@neotekcorp - A major revision of Dolphin Twitter module has not been done since the release of Mention & Hashtags so there is currently no integration but this is worth looking into. Mention & Hashtags  does not integrate seamlessly with all third party modules. It uses an algorithm to filter and show only those modules that facilitate automatic integration. PM me the names of some of the modules for which you are not showing up.

Curious if you're working on an update to this module. As mentioned this is a hugely powerful feature with definite potential and I think its a must. However, it needs to include the timeline postings since the hashtags show up there. And this is how Twitter is set up. clicking a hashtag brings up ALL postings that have that same hashtag in them. If I click someone's hashtag in the timeline it just goes to the clunky dolphin search page which doesn't include the postings expected.

I'd think the best way would be a more streamlined display of relevant items, again similar to Twitter (or other social media sites), instead of broken down by modules. The search results page really needs a major overhaul

@neotekcorp - Regarding Timeline Postings, unless Boonex includes timeline postings in search results in a future update, such feature will not be available from the Mentions and Hashtags module. The module can only pickup content from sections of the site that are integrated into the search mechanism.

Hi Dear Modzzz,

I have installed the Mentions and HashTags mod and the installation went well. Also within it (Mentions and HashTags mod) I've managed to add modules like: Premium Articles, Classifieds, Business Listings etc.

Now I would like to add the following modules: Facebook ads, Pets, Referral Contest but the 'Description Field' for Facebook Ads mod, the 'Title Field' for the Pets mod, the 'ID Field', 'URI Field', 'Title Field' and 'Description Field' for the Referral Contest mod are empty and are required.

What should I type/add to these empty fields of these mods?

For Referrals Contest, the fields are :  `ID, Title, Uri, Icon, Desc 

For Pets, title field is petname

For Facebook ads, the description field is message
