Memberships

Does anyone know if there has been a update put out or a mod that lets admin disable or enable the default membership levels through the admin panel which are

Non-member

Standard

Promotion

Currently with the version dolphin I have I can only enable or disable Custom Levels through the admin panel. Looks like in order to enable or disable the default ones I would have to go through the Cpanel which I am not trying to do. Anyone have any suggestions on this?

Promotional memberships are a option. It can be enabled and disabled with the Enable promotional membership: option in the membership levels section in the settings tab.

The other two are required. Non-Member is used for the settings for guests. The other for members that are not in any other member level. There is a reason you cannot disable them. Dolphin won't function without them.

Deano, thanks for the response and for clearing that up for me.

By "Enable Promotional Membership" in Admin settings all new members are on a "Promotion" membership for the set number of days. After that they become "Standard" members.

If you have a current Standard member and would like him to test out some of your cool functions during a limited period of time. Then I guess the suggested strategy is to create a new Custom level that holds those specific permissions and give that to the member. But you would here manually have to go in and change back to the level the user had before?

Just thinking, it would be cool if we had a way to set up a promotional membership for current members that automatically reverted back to the prior membership level once promotion period ended. If your original membership expires during the promotional period you'd be sent back to standard membership level.

Thoughts?
