Membership not upgrading

Hi all,

Just wanted to ask the lovely Boonex forum users for a little help. Once a site member ads an upgrade option to their cart and pays via 2checkout or Paypal their membership level is not automatically upgraded. I am having to go into the admin panel and manually upgrade members. I've only been using test members at the moment, but this will be a major part of the site so I need to sort it out. Does anyone have any ideas? I've done all the obvious settings changes via admin panel. I'm not a techy, so it could be something simple. Feel free to shout abuse, mock etc or even better help.

Many thanks

Jay

Could someone please clearly explain how to do this for both Paypal and 2Checkout?  This is a vital feature.  If I can't get it to work with Dolphin I'm going to convert to Skadate.

Hi there,

We have tried it for testing purposes and it worked. Here is what needs to be done:

- First, set the data configuration in the Paypal mod (dolphin).

- then create the Paypal account, generate an API key and define that the account has feedback (that it returns info back).

- in order to Paypal be able to communicate with Dolphin, there is a box in Paypal to insert a link that is in the admin painel ( paypal mod)

And then it works, the 2 sites are able to communicate, and the membership is automatically updated after a payment.

Regards,

we really need to delineate this topic more fully so that someone can more easily apply your wisdom.

1.

- First, set the data configuration in the Paypal mod (dolphin).

are you saying one needs to set the data under "Payment Administration"; "Payment Details"?  Is PDT or IPN used for this application?  Is the PayPal API key input for the "Identity token" field?

2.

- then create the Paypal account, generate an API key and define that the account has feedback (that it returns info back).

In Paypal click on:

A. Profile

B. API Access

C.  Option 1 (Grant API Permission) or Option 2 (Request API Credentials)- Which one should be chosen?

3.

- in order to Paypal be able to communicate with Dolphin, there is a box in Paypal to insert a link that is in the admin painel ( paypal mod)

Where is this box in Paypal?  Are you referring to "Website Payment Preferences"; "Return URL" for the Dolphin "Data return URL"?  What about Payment Data Transfer?  Is it set to "on" or "off"?

Thanks in advance for your future assistance.  If this works then I will purchase a Dolphin license instead of a competitor's.

Hi,

can not give further assistance on this topic. What I can say is that it works, it was set up by my partner and he did it by try and error.

Sorry about that...

Perhaps your partner made notes on this topic...I have no doubt that people would pay good money for the information.
