Members not showing

Does anyone know why all the members on my site are not showing up? I have a lot of members but when you look on my site there are only about 30 of them that show up even when I do view all and use the drop down to show more per page.

mmm - by any chance did you remove the requirement for them to enter a birthdate?  Plus of course make sure the are approved and "active" in the control panel.

They are all active and it still only shows 51 members but there are 171 members. I also added back the age thing. It was taken off. If I type in that persons name I can find them but it just wont show them in the view all.

Also do you know about video size limits? I tried changing it in the admin/plugin/ray panel. I still get a message saying file cannot be above 8m. So how else can I change it?

Thanks for your help!

This is taken from another thread posted by csampson1....only address your video question..

You will have to edit your php.ini setting

original settings "post_max_size = 8M"

change to

post_max_size = (the max size you want)M

AND

original settings "upload_max_filesize = 8M"

changed to

upload_max_filesize = (the max size you want)M

We are talking about D7 here right?

So you did remove the age thing (Date of Birth) I presume.

Well you more than likely have a whole bunch of members where DOB = 00-00-0000 that you will need to set a DOB for.

Check the profiles in your admin panel and if DOB = 00-00-0000 then just give them any DOB or within PHPmyAdmin you can Update all profiles where DOB 00-00-0000.

Then hopefully all profiles will show.

You might also want to mail your members to ask them to update profiles.

That is why I asked the version.  In D6 members didn't exist if they had no DOB, I don't believe this is true for D7.

Thanks for the info Newton27 but where would I find said file? I have looked in my folders but did not find the php.ini file. Like which folder should it be in? Could you give me details on how to get to this folder?

Thanks :)

Its possible that you may not have one. If you did, it should be in the root folder (ex. public_html). If you dont, you can create on in notepad.

Open notepad and put in something like this - (this indicates 400MB upload limits- Change 400M to whatever you want)

upload_max_filesize= 400M
max_input_time= 4000
post_max_size= 400M

Click File, Save As, Change save as type to All Files (*.*), and put php.ini in the File Name. Upload that via FTP to your root directory (ex. public_home)

* Note - depending on your web hosting you may not have the ability to override the default php settings (especially in a shared environment).

Depends on how your hosted. It sounds like your hosting service does not meet the minimum system requirements.

Who's your host?

I'm sure others will chime in here in a while..where are you guys?

LOL @Newton27.. As for your members showing up, you never stated what version of Dolphin you had. As explained by others here, it possible they do not have a birthdate..

As for the birth date thingy I did go in and add them to the profiles and they are now showing up. I turned it off while I was at an event to make sign up go faster. I turned it back on.

As for hosting, it's goofy. I have Godaddy but part of my site is being hosted on another server??? I will try adding the file as suggested and see if that works.

Thanks guys :)

Oh and no I don't think I have dolphin 7

Quote · 11 Jul 2010

No, that didn't work. I created the php.ini file and uploaded it in my root folder with the info you suggested and still when I try to upload a video it says "file should not exceed 8MB? So now what? Any other suggestions?

Change hosts to one that allows larger uploads, if you wanna keep it cheap HostGator is ok whilst your site is small and they allow around 50 MB.

As your site grows you could then think about a Virtual Server or Dedicated.

Go into your Admin Panel > Tools > Host Tools and click the Host Parameters tab. If the Post Max Size in there says 8MB, try putting that php.ini in the /administration folder as well.

BTW, you can have "part" of your site hosted on another server. Its possible you have your domain name registered at GoDaddy and the hosting somewhere else OR you have it all at GoDaddy, but not separated.

If you are using Dolphin 6, then this is most likely the birthdate issue.  Just because you added that field back to the join form, doesn't mean the birthdates got in there while that was gone.  Try adding a birthdate for a member or two in the admin panel and see if they show back up - I''ll bet they do.  It is possible to remove the birthdate field from D6, but you will have to set a default birthdate, then hide it everywhere.

Zacron, I must be missing something. When I go to the Admin, then Tools, I only have the following options

Mass Mailer

Money Calculator

Database backup

Admin Polls

Site news

Random quotes

Banners

Modules

and that's it. no host tools??
