Anyone mess with the Articles feature much yet in 6.1? I just started playing around with it a little and unless I have something set wrong a member can actually edit another members or admin article by simply entering:
http://www.mysite.com/articles.php?articleID=1&action=editarticle
or
http://www.mysite.com/articles.php?articleID=2&action=editarticle
or whatever the article id seems to be.
Also doesn't seem to matter whether its in free mode or not. Unless I am missing it I can't seem to find the area to limit access to editing articles.
Anyone have a similar issue?
Thanks.

What I found is that the member can do as you state, edit some else's article and submit, but the change is not actually accepted and shown on the site. When you test your site, do the edits get displayed to all?
It does appear that a member can submit a new article and it be automatically accepted. I can't find a moderation feature for this. Does anyone know if a moderation feature for articles exists?

Using V6.1.1
I have added articles as Admin and User. User cannot edit or delete articles from article tab; admin can tho.

LH admin is correct... the edits DO NOT become visible in the site.
but, that does not change the fact that these functions should be removable from the general member view.
any suggestions on how to remove or add new article and or edit article form general member view???
Thank

Tried entering the URL directly for USER to EDIT articles....It just brings USER back to ADD article only; there is no EDIT available to USER.

Igladd, see my post to comment "Add" out at http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/#topic/members-can-post-articles-.htm
What I would really like is for members to be able to add articles but have them MODERATED first.

LHAdmin,
I see the "comment out" out post about line 49, but I am a rookie at best...
I tried to remove the _Add New Article on line 49 but it removes it from the admin portion too...
same as removing it in language threads...
not sure what I did wrong...
Thanks so much

Well, looky there! It did take it out of the Admin control too! Hum. Thanks for posting that. Well, who out there knows how to maintain the link for Admin but not to members. |
Well beats me. Because I can just enter:
http://www.mysite.com/articles.php?articleID=1&action=editarticle
and just change the article id# to whatever and edit any. Doesn't matter who I am logged in as. I will continue playing around with this and update if I get it figured out.
It would make sense to be able to moderate them. You never know what a user is going to say. If they are posted instantly and you are not online for 12 hours and someone writes some iffy article...it would be nice for this to sit in a moderation area before approving. Or at least having the option to auto-approve or instant approve.

Has anyone figured this out or is everyone on to the latest release and is it addressed in there?
