Match - does this fuction actually work?

Not many postings about the Match function apart from to say its useless.

Does it actually work, if so I must be missing something.

If you're looking for an easy way to spam the heck out of your members then it works like a charm.

Would be good if someone created a flexible "Partner Matching" module... with enough options (control) to avoid excessive emails.

I am building a business network, and I want e.g. webmasters to be able to find program sponsors (like Boonex is a Program Sponsor actively looking for Affiliates).

And match doesn't work?
