Market Licences Button

Does anyone know the purpose of the Licenses button that exists in a market entry for those that have purchased a product?

I know when clicked on it pops up a window that shows a number. But what is that number?

So far i can see no way for the vendor to verify that number provided to the purchaser. It does not seem to exist in any of the information provided in a excel export of the purchases.

The feature at this point in time seems to be quite useless. Unless the vendor can verify these numbers, then they are of no use to us.

The first time I purchased in the market, I saw that and clicked on it and copied the number thinking I needed to included it somewhere.  So it is a puzzlement to the customers as well.

I will most likley need to enter a ticket in trac for this to get noticed anyway.

I was going to start using these, but unless i can easily verify them, they are of no use. They need to be in part of the excel export download, or better yet boonex should provide vendors with the ability to set a URL where transaction details including that license number is to be sent to after the paypal checkout is complete. I not talking about a paypal ipn url. I mean a second URL for the vendors so we can process licensing information if needed.

But it's another useful feature that boonex will not understand the usefulness of. I need it. But i am guessing i will have to find another way.

This license is used by flash apps.

Flash apps have build-in license checking mechanism, so actually user can download flash app for free and activate it only when license code is entered in flash admin panel.
