Hello , I want to be able to setup an orca forum for members and one for public, I don't see where this can be done in the interface. My thought was to clone the orca module as orca2 and treat it as a seperate module and then make that forum private. Anyone have a better idea? This seems like an over kill for what I need. Basically I have setup a paid membership level and want to give them their own forum. Thanks in advance for any help!

You can set the privacy levels on your Forum topics. You have the choice to make them public or private. So just set them like you want. Nothing to see here |
Yes this is true but I need certain membership levels to have access to certain topics. Not just private or public as I assume any registered user will have access to the "private" , or I am still missing something?
Thanks!

You can select public and private viewing in your membership level settings
'forum public post'
'forum public read'
'forum private post'
'forum private read'
What you specifically ask is not possible. Remember, this is the fish forum

Wow... that's it? I'm a bit shocked. I expected at least the ability to setup Private forums for select members and assign moderators for each Public forum. Is Orca only used by BoonEx? I don't see a lot of information online.

You can also assign forum permissions for each membership type.Public or Private.
This gives you 4 choices
- public access only
- public and private access
- private access only
- no access.
between them you can create a fairly manageable forum. It;s nothing like phpbb, but we're still waiting for someone to build a truly integrated phpbb mod

True, Ocra has enough basic features to run a good "no frills' forum. Thank you for providing feedback... I always appreciate those that offer their time and share their knowledge with others looking for help. http://pkforum.dolphinhelp.com |
The newer versions of Dolphin have page access control by default. I haven't tried it but you might be able to dial it in a little more using that. http://towtalk.net ... Hosted by Zarconia.net! |
