It appears there will be two upgrade patches, 7.1.6 to 7.2 and 7.2 to 7.2.1. I am curious as to why the few problems being reported did not show up in 7.2 RC or did no one actually download and install and test the RC? It seems the people reporting the issue would have tested the RC but then Boonex really did not give enough time between the RC and 7.2 release because they proclaim far and wide that 7.2 would be released on September first.

From now on ill report only if i get paid :D Its take too much time to test a whole website like dolphin. Main thing is i have been checking the tickets issued and found out that many tickets were closed due to the reason cause the implementation of the solution was not possible at that time. e.g 1. Privacy issue still persist. Adopting a new privacy structure will be a heck of job to do. 2. Comments still don't align properly in mobile version. The structure used is not compatible for mobiles. Neither the problem of counting the comments and replies is solved. 3. There is this ticket left about the video length count in Timeline. The milestone was 7.2 but now the problem still exist and no milestone added for the ticket. Kinda lost ticket to me. 4. Issues regarding the Spy bug still persist. You get notification for posting on your own timeline. I really hate the way notification works in dolphin. In conclusion there are so many issues related to dolphin which need to be solved, but i think more time is spent on reorganizing boonex every now and then, instead of making dolphin a perfect product ( as andrew says never be perfect ). I called for more testing but some said no. What I wanted was to avoid several bug fix releases immediately after 7.2. 7.2 has been officially release so to fix any bugs now means a point release. Granted the point release patch won't have as many code changes as going from 7.1.6 to 7.2 but it still could have been avoided. Geeks, making the world a better place |
