Let's talk about cutting edge

Well, lets start a topic on what features would make Boonex Next Generation product outstanding. Any visionaries out there? Okay, I will start.

Boonex make me:

A sign up process that is automated. When someone visits my site they are greeted by a Animated person that will ask them a series of questions that they can answer either verbally or type in the answers, but only after they are asked. Some of the questions will determine their likes and dislikes, their interests and experience. With this information the site will automatically populate their profiles with background and cover pictures, colors, fonts and groups of interests as well as friends grouped by interests, it may also open new forums and new groups. Search You Tubes for videos that maybe of interest and embed them to their video page. Their dislikes will be hidden from view and a stores can be set up for products that they would be interested in buying. Of course they would have an option to change, refresh or lock their profiles.

I maybe a dreamer or a visionary, but I am definitely on the cutting edge. I should repost this for quotes from our elite programmers, if Boonex isn't up to the challenge. And do not wait too long because animated website development is not too far off.

Anyone interested in this or would like to expand on it, bring it on.

Just my two cents.... But Why would you want this?

You are leaving very little for the member to physically do. When I join a site that I am interested in I (a) enjoy the sign up process. (b) Enjoy filling out all my profile data or port it from fb. (c) have a really good look around and rummage through everything. (d) pick the site appart, criticise and evaluate. (e) decide whetyher to remain a mamber and contribute or leave..... You are removing all the manual interaction and most of the fun.

I completely understand the desire to do something different that stands out (maybe with some wow factor). I am doing something different with my next site..... Maybe considder using dolphin for something other than social networking or dating.... I will be....

I know that dolphin is capable of being adapted to do what you want... but there is no way in hell that Boonex will ever hand it to you... I would hire a VERY good developer and pay them some serious $$$$$

Just my oppinion...

This would be a quick way to get a site that is populated with false information imo

You can't get an automated script that will fill in all my 'boxes' with relevant information that reflects who I am, what groups I like, what forum posts I want to read, my profile etc...

Closest thing I guess we have to compare would be things like google ad words and facebook 'suggested posts' and adverts... they spend millions monitoring all my personal info and online activity, just to post me to useless adverts that I don't want to see!

Maybe this has already been thought of by facebook and google, but they decided not to go with it as you would end up with a site full of profiles that are not reflective of the people who may fill out the 'tour'.

I want real people, filling out their own info, making their profile their own.

In all the network sites I've ever worked on, the ones that really work and last are the ones that allow people to feel that they 'own' their profile and the site... if this step is taken for them, they will prob just remain visitors.

Nathan, thank you for your opinion. I agree that part of the fun is inputting all the info and exploring. They can still do that, just with guidance from Artificial intelligences, at first. This fixes dull profiles and adds the wow.  Also would be a good filter, robot have not been programmed to answer verbal questions. Best part is the gathering of information for improved experience present and future. Analytic, if you will. Google and Yahoo, well, about every major power including our governments gather information for their benefit, under the guise of better user experience and future development. This maybe true for some. In any case, the point I was making is that we are far from fully developed experience. What would make user experience better is the question. Or is website development traveled its course. I tend to think that it is in its infantile stage and that innovation is stifled by a wait and see attitude, instead of vision. Boonex maybe stifled too. Looking at their past, they seemed to be innovators, now they maybe followers trying to adapt their system to a changing future.  I cannot blame them, alot of time has been spent developing a very solid platform. To keep from obsolescence, they need to be the future, not trying to anticipate it.

Daihlo, thank you for your opinion also. I do not see false profiles as a problem, the input is still coming from the user, whether verbal or typed. I, also, would not expect an all inclusive automated experience. There would still need to be changes to profile, acceptances of groups or forum subscriptions, music approvals etc. The process may allow greater personal experience, if greeted each time they came back, and thanked every time they leave. Of course that too may get old and need tweaking, also.

Well, in any case, If anyone wants to share their views of the direction that internet will take and what future features are going to be enabled by these changes. I am all ears.

I love your enthusiasm and hope it turns into something great.... I have reservations though. There are many visionaries on here (and many sheep). I agree that there has to be more to the web site experience, but virtual greaters? I wuld look at other technologies too.... I also looed at making a site with a 3d graphical interface (Like club penguin) where the member walks around an environment - walks to the cinema (finds videos page) - walks to the disco (finds music page) etc.... guess what, It is possible with dolphin, but complicated....

Anyways good luck dude... let us know how you get on : )
