Languages messed up

Hi, I'm not sure what I've done but my languages are messed up and I need to restore them back to how they are on first install. Can anyone advise the best the way to do this?

try recompiling your sites lang...not sure if this will work for you

Yeah I did that...each time I get Failed: An error occurred. Contact with module's vendor

I actually worked out that the problem is only with one mod. I have contacted the vendor who unfortunately has not been much help. All other mods are ok language wise except this one. Any suggestions?
