I noticed a problem with the language key creation system. I added a button in the groups action block that takes members to the forum for that group. Upon creating the language key, I selected the 'groups' category. The key would not display.
If I delete the key and create another one using a different category (like modzzz classifieds), the key works.
This is repeatable. Something is not working right during the key category selection process and causes the key to not function.

Ok, I've seen several language key related posts in 7.1 and I think this is a good hint as to what's going on. I do have a new question. Does posting a bug in this forum actually ever get read and responded too?
I can recreate this issue all day long while eating a ham sandwich and channel surfing. and I don't eat meat or watch TV!
I am really interested in 2 things.
- Why are the language keys put into categories? Do not understand how that's beneficial.
- I also don't understand why Boonex is always SO SLOW to respond... I would think they would want to be on top of their game, at least for the current unfinished product.

Can't reproduce the issue - language key created in "BoonEx Groups" (or other categories) is added and then shown without any problems.
I would recommend to always add custom language keys to "System" category, because language keys added to other than "System" category are deleted upon modules languages recompilation.

Ok then, explain what the categories are for? I added it to the 'Boonex Groups' category because that's where I was using the key.
What you are saying is I should ignore the category selection and always use system?

Can someone help me here. What's the purpose of the language key categories? http://towtalk.net ... Hosted by Zarconia.net! |
Language category belongs to a module, and recompiled when module language is recompiled, and, as I said before, delete all manually added language keys and modifications.
So, categories are for module language recompilation.

I have the same Problem!... |
Ok, understand now but it seems dirty to me. I don't know why you can't recreate it as I can repeatedly. Outside of the fact that I shouldn't create new keys in anything but the system category, when you add a new key to Boonex Groups, it fails to show.
Also, I think it's related to the TOS {evalResult} issue we've been complaining about. I can;t set a category for that one and it continues to evade me now through about 5 versions.

Always add custom language files to System category, adding to any other category can cause that the translation will be deleted upon module language file recompilation.
The other problem most unlikely is related to this one.

I've found the solution!
- First: Default language set to english.
- Second: Enter fields.
- Third: Language key for additional languages set
