Lang-en.php

Hi,

I made some text changes to the lang-en.php  to sooth the naming convention of our website. I saved the changes and everything was ok. Today I applied couple of pluggins. I found out all the changes I made yesterday in lang-en.php reverted back.

This is painful because it took me quite a long time change all those words. Are we allowed to make changes on this file?

Thanks

I came across this too, did you find a solution? I don't want to lose my changes again.

easy place to make a change if you are not kind of geeky is in admin:
Walk to:

Settings:
           Languages Settings:

Filter [  type in  word or phrase  ] [x] Apply  <-------<<<- ( Check Apply )

If it's there [ what you are looking to change ] something should popup that you can modify.   Be assured if you're not NICE to the language - it will come back and haunt you and make your language appear demon possessed as you blow up ur site. Can I watch << evil grin >>

Also note - less something changed.. Forum language needs to be recompiled in forum admin.

And there is more to language files... I'm sure a guru will jump in and explain ...  my minds going south.
In fact if you follow any of my missives your head may self explode.

As Eaglell pointed out. You need to edit languages from the language section in admin. Your cannot edit lang-en.php that is in the langs folder directly. That file is a language cache file that gets rebuilt each time the languages get recompiled which occurs every time a module is installed or uninstalled.
