Joinup Sequence

Here is my desired joinup sequence:

  1. Registration form completed, Join button clicked
  2. MESSAGE: Please verify your account by clicking link in your signup email
  3. Email link clicked
  4. MESSAGE: Success: you have now verified your account, please login
  5. User manually logins for first time
  6. User can upload a (single) avatar photo or select from available icons
  7. User taken to home page

Here is the actual joinup sequence in Dolphin 7:

  1. Registration form completed, Join button clicked
  2. User automatically logged in
  3. User can upload a multiple avatar photos or select from available icons

At no point in the default Dolphin process does the user have to verify their email address (double opt in) and they get to upload multiple avatar photos. I have tried many different settings but always get the same results.

Any ideas on how to control and enforce the joinup sequence?

Navigate to administration, settings, moderation and have a gander at the available options.

Have fun.

Edit: Next time, post this topic in the right section (this is the forum for Dolphin 6.1).

These are exactly the settings I have been trying, but no combination gives the result I am looking for.

These are exactly the settings I have been trying, but no combination gives the result I am looking for.

The settings needed to have newly-joined members approve their accounts with an email confirmation.

To have members have to activate their account with an email, you'll want to have the following as your configuration. You can also require the re-activation of their account via email if they edit it, if you like (it's the second option).

Unfortunately, that's as close as you're going to get with what you want, but at least it's close.

Thanks for your help. It doesn't seem to have improved things but I guess I will keep scanning the forums and maybe commission a code cutter if that doesn't work.
