Issues trying to add code to HTML block...

Hello all... I'm adding HTML code to one HTML block. However, after saving, if I check the code I have just added, I find that most lines of code are just "missing"... what's going on? What's the proper way to add HTML code...? (I'm adding it the code via Tools / <>Source Code in the HTML Block settings...) Any help greatly appreciated!
