Is there way to prevent Profile Deletion?

I do not want my members to have the ability to delete their own profiles. When they go to unregister, I'd rather it suspend their profile vs deleting their own profile. So I have a record of them being on the site. Is there a way to prevent a member deleting their own profile?

If not, I'd like to submit this as a future idea.. lol :)

Hi My Friend,

Goto Menu Builder and locate Unregister Under the Red background Dashboard option, then slide it off.  Next rename unregister.php so not to let your members access it manually.

That it

Yes, you can delete the account page link to deleting the account leaving the suspend in place.  However, you will need to put a notice up about how when they join they can not remove their accounts.  Are sure you really want to go this route?

Thank you! Currently unsure actually, most of the members who have deleted accounts were trouble makers.. some just didn't want the presence..

Agree with GG... you should add a note somewhere on your site, i.e. Terms of Use.  My solution was to remove the delete option for members, hide info about expired members from both public and members view, and offer to delete any member's account (past or current) if they contact the site admin and request it.  Sounds like more work but for the type of site, it's rarely asked for.

You can check out the Register/Unregister Tracker module. It replaces the unregister page with a Survey that members take upon exit. It captures the reason why the member want to leave. Upon taking the survey, the Profile info of the member is backed up before unregistering them. The site administration then has the option to send mass mails in the future to different categories of members who left the site. Say for example, one of the reasons for leaving was "high membership fees". If the fees were reduced in the future, Admin could send a mail to those persons who chose this reason upon leaving, advising them that the fees are now lower.
