in this section i want that my member can post XXX video but this section will be restrict by some membership level to use and access it.
i search on the market and dont find any module that dont use the default boonex video module

This is going to require some custom coding and I don't know of any module on the market that will handle what you want to do. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Have you considered duplicating the default video module (i.e. under a different name) then using the membership type "actions" settings to limit which membership types are allowed access privileges? http://pkforum.dolphinhelp.com |
can you explain me how i can duplicate the boonex video module... this could be the more cheapest way to reach my goal

I suggest you search this forum for topics including "Rename Module" in the title. Then implement those instructions on a *copy* (duplicate files/folders) of the video module. The goal is to rename the duplicate copy of the video module so you can run both at the same time without them interfering with each other. Obviously you can really mess up your main video module (and site) if you make a change incorrectly or miss a necessary change... so it's best to do the work on a separate development site. http://pkforum.dolphinhelp.com |

Folks, we are missing what this user wants to do; they want to have videos that can only be viewed by a certain membership level; "Adult".
@totallyfreak, even if you clone the video module, it will still be the same as the current video modules. storing videos in user's video albums where the viewing is controlled by privacy levels, not membership levels.
Videos are stored in a member's video albums; not on a separate area of the site; there is no separate area. When you go to browse video, that is just listing the members videos; clicking to view a video takes you to their album. You have the albums table and the album objects tables that tells which album the videos are in and which member they belong to.
This is not something that can easily be done; it is going to take some planning and it is going to involve writing code. You are going to need to figure out the flow, how it is going to work.

RE:

Not really viable.... too many changes in other parts of the code would be required.

GG you seem to have a real knack for broadcasting wrong information. See if you can figure out what's wrong with your last post. I'm not going to tell you... I wouldn't want to spoil the fun.
If you know how the OP can have it where members upload videos into a separate section and have the privacy level set to a membership level then by all means go ahead and tell the OP as I am sure they would like to know instead of you playing some silly game. The way I read this is that the OP does not want the videos uploaded to the members albums but to a separate area of the site.
One could tell members to mark the video with the category "Adult" and then have a page where you collect all the videos with category "Adult" and use the PAC to set that page viewable to only "Adult" membership level but members may upload an adult video and leave the setting to public, that would be nice for porno to show up on the home page. And the videos are still uploaded into their video albums.
The OP could set up an Adult group and restrict it by membership level using the PAC but the OP did not indicate they wanted it to be a group and the Pages modules are just redone groups and a group by any other name is still a group.
HL, don't play these silly arsed games, if you know of a solution then post it so the OP can have their answer; it is not about me or you it is about helping so help if you can and crow about it.

thx geek_girl i really like you intervention and help on all my topic :)
but i think that the most easy way is that a dev. make a mod with a separate video module so uploaded video will be in that module and not in user album...
for answer other member who try to give a solution.. i already have the ray global video... but the thing is that user cannot UPLOAD their own video...

GG, I'll just have to refrain from pointing out all the misinformation you spew out. I'm afraid it would just keep me too busy. It's just getting hard to find a topic where you don't have some misguiding or flat out wrong BS posted. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
@totallyfreak. Are you on "xbiz (.) net" yet? If so shoot me a message so we can connect. I am going to be at the Xbiz Miami conference in a few weeks. If you need something, like content, let me know. |
nope im not on this website |
