Is there a welcome message for new members?

Is there a way for all new members to receive a default welcome message when they first sign up? When you sign up for myspace, for example, you automatically have a message in your inbox. When you read it, it just explains a few things about how myspace works. This would be real helpful if its possible, since it seems some people have a hard time finding certain areas of the site, since Dolphin is a very complex setup like Myspace. I dont mean a message to their personal email, but a message in their inbox on the actual website once they login for the first time.

Also, if anybody knows how to send a default welcome email to their personal emails too, like how boonex sends you a welcome message, that would be great too, but not as important as sending to their inbox on the actual site. Thanks

I don't know about sending a private message welcome, but you can edit the email templates in such a way as to do what you have mentioned here.

There is also a mod that is down this alley but it's not exactly what you want either. You may want to check it out anyways.

Good idea, however if your community is young you may want to drop every new member a note anyway - even personalized a bit - unless you are growing really fast it shouldn't be that much hastle.   I do think this would be a nice mod though.

On expertzzz.com there is a free mod which redirects new members to a hello page and you can insert whatever message you have..go to expertzz and search by tag, click the free tag...

No, the message comes only once when the first login, then they will not get it again..
