Is there a module for members to auction off stuff

Is there a module that my site can have a section like ebay to where members can auction things off to other members?

not that I know of. there was an 'ebay integration' module on market a long time ago, but I don't think it was anything other than ebay in an iframe really!

I have seen a manual auction where you just re-brand articles, and have people place open bids in comments... people auction on facebook this way also. Nothing automated about it though, all manual and open.

if only we could get a wordpress integration for membership /profiles, every mod under the sun available for WP and mostly free!...

yeah it seems like wordpress has ever module one could ever want,, problem is it is not a full social network,, i love boonex for that alone it is atleast going in the direction i want my sites to go. While wordpress has alot of the things I want it would just be taking a step back for me I think.   ,,, do you have a copy of the software you said you used?

no, but its easy to rename most mods to something like 'auctions' then just leave an instruction html block telling people how to use it (leave up-bid in comments etc).

Ultimate Articles is the one I normally re-name (by Modzzz), same as articles, but allows users to create articles whereas normal one doesnt. 

the 'other' auction mod (ebay one) is by derartmedia who I don't think is around anymore so Im pretty sure this modules will not be supported and may not even work. I wouldn't risk this one as there was a lot of history with derart and boonex and problems with modules...

I went searching and found where someone in 2010 requested an auction module; no one appeared interested at that time.  I read the comments to the job posting and someone mentioned WebBid; http://www.webidsupport.com/index.php

WebBid is an open source auction script written in PHP.  Perhaps one of the integration people in the Market could tie the Dolphin membership to the Auction script in some way.  That might be the best approach to having members able to post stuff for auctions and have members to be able to bid on them and keep it all local to your social network.
