Is Boonex Right for Me?

Dear Boonex Admins,

I have a customer who has a teaching tutorial site.  They have a public aspect that allows users to view certain information about the business, calendar, events, etc....

Then there is a member area (Students and Teachers).

Students have a FREE registration.  Teachers have a Pay registration.  Is this possible?

Within Students there are videos that they want to allow ONLY Students to watch.

The Student video access is via a password within the book they purchase.  Can the videos be secured so that only students with the password can view them?

Within Teachers there are videos that they want to allow ONLY Teachers to watch.

The Teacher videos are accessed via a membership fee.  Can the site allow for a fee to be charged for teachers?

 Yes, but would take setting up for this.

You can have multiple membership levels, make them free or paid.

Paid by default will not be a recurring payment, just a one off, although you can set this to only allow a set time of access (6 month, 12 months etc...)

You can also buy a recurring payment mod ($100ish) on market that will setup automatic ongoing payments for paid membership level.

As for allowing some vids to students, some to teachers,

I would set up students  / teachers as 2 different memberhip levels.

Then you can set the standard video mod to be only viewable by one level, and use another mod for 2nd video content. 

I would suggest, either 'Video Albums' mod, which will run alongside standard video mod, then set this to only be available to the other membership level, or even just use the article mod which allows you to embed videos in article content. Then set this to the other membership level only.

So yes, it can be done, this is just one way to set it up using standard practise and a couple of mods... if you use article mod as 2nd videos section, then thats also default for install so will be free for you to setup.

The only thing you wouldnt have is giving passwords for members to join the 'student' membership level, although you could make it invite only? Or make it so you have to authenticate student level members before they can view student content? Something like that would prob work.

you could probaly use the vouchers code module from anton to do this. It allows you to create memebrship codes with diiferent discounts. You could create passwords that allow a user to upgrade or change to student membership for FREE.
