Invitation only site?

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out if Dolphin would work for me before buying an add-free license. My needs are rather simple, basically I need that I can control who can join the community.

I've seen a feature that allows to join the site only by invitation, but can't figure out how it works. Who can invite? How?

I want that only the admin can invite users to join (or sign them in himself, etc...) These members should not be able to invite someone else to join.

Is this possible? Any pointer on how it could be dine?

Thanks for the great work, it does all look amazing (I just wish some documentation was available...)

I guess the lowest tech way of doing that would be to select invite only in the advanced settings then remove all the links to the tellfreind (invite Friend) function.

You could buy one the invite mods on expertzz that allows to invite people from outlook files. All you would need to do is go directly to the page by typing the url in manually. Example....wwww.yoursite.php/invite/index/ (depending on how you install your mod)

I am sure there is a better way of doing this by writing code. But that would have to come from someone that actually knows how to code.

Thank you. I think I'll use the "coding" method instead. I will be easy to protect the join page so that only the people I invite can join.
