Internal mailer from eSASe

I bet everyone had a desire to send site news or any other announces not only to the user's registered email (there are a lot of cases when site message goes to spam) but to the default Dolphin mail box as well.

You can do this with this mod!!!
This module allows you to choose member's category you want to send announces to by sex, country, age and membership level.

Is it supposed to send out the emails as soon as you save it or does it wait for 30 minutes to send it out? Has been over thirty minutes and still waiting.

I followed the instructions given with the module. There was nothing in it about modifying the cron job or creating one. I get an email every minute.

* * * * * cd /home/xxxxxx/public_html/periodic; /usr/local/bin/php -q cron.php

Hello try replace this cron job's command -

* * * * * cd /home/xxxxxx/public_html/periodic; /usr/local/bin/php -q cron.php

with :

* * * * * cd /home/xxxxxx/public_html/periodic; /usr/bin/php -q cron.php

The cron is as you suggested. I must be doing something wrong because it still is not sending out the emails.

Sasha,

i am helping with getting your internal mailer to work for your client. what we have done for testing purposes was rename the .htaccess in the periodic directory and fired the cron.php file directly from the browser so we can take the cron settings or cron job config out of the picture and just get the email module to work. once we get it to to work, then i will deal with the cron job.

at this point, i am not seeing the queued mails going out. there are 6 mails queued, one from 8:39AM. it was stated that you got the mailer to send out, so if you can pass that information along as to how you managed that, and help us along the way on this. it would be greatly appreciated.

if you call the cron.php file from the browser, i can watch the file fire, but the queued mails for the internal mailer never budge.

so some guidance here please.

Sasha, further finding on this is that the default mailer is working. and its working from the cron, though we want to take cron out of the picture and just see that the internal mailer is working.

i queued up 149 emails, 10 emails went out, i killed the 139 that were waiting.

so we need some assistance on this and its not the cron job settings.

Sasha,

further testing reveals more news:

the default mass mail tool is working 100% . the cron job is firing the cron.php which is firing the notifies cron from the database.

so at this point, we are waiting on you to wake up and give some feedback.

oh by the way, this is really a nice mod for anybody who would like to notify internally.

Hello my internal mailer send message each 30 minutes! Don't forget it

yeah and that could have been one of the problems, in that she was trying to test, and its difficult to test whilst waiting 30 minutes.

i think its working as should be. i initially created a cron job on cpanel to fire the cronfile in your classes dir, and that is when i started seeing it working.

at any rate, nice mod. could use some further tweaking, such as you have no clue when mails are being sent, so if you set 200 on the increment every x minutes, it should be able to give a count of what is left in queue.

also, there should be some log of messages that have been sent from admin, with a method to purge every x days or something after a sql dump.

that would be a great feature to have.

and Sasha, to any who read this, if you have a need to send internal messages which many do, because this will keep down the spam attraction and getting your IP blacklisted if you are sending internally only, this is a great feature.

Just bought it and easy install like all the modes that I have bought from you.  I like the others that posted here can not seem to get the emails to go out.  I used this setting in cron

* * * * * cd /home/xxxxxx/public_html/periodic; /usr/bin/php -q cron.php

but nothing is going out.  Any suggestions?

Err, why you guys are sorting out outgoing emails if this mod is for in-site messaging? Or did I understood something wrong? How does it work?

Do these internal mails gets sent as "letters" or "greetings" or is it possible to define this? (only members with upgrades can read letters on my site).

Thanks
