Integrating with Facebook Events

Our site is used entirely for events, we are now looking at integrating it with Facebook (FB). But not sure the best way, should we be importing events into FB from our site or exporting them from FB into our site for instance ?

If we new how FB events would have evolved into what it is today we would have probably not bother with a website and just used FB events and groups.

At the moment we have no FB integration at all.

Any tips, plugins welcome.

Market search?

Anyway, "Events import support added to allow users to import events from Facebook to Dolphin"

http://www.boonex.com/m/Dolphin_2_Facebook_The_Ultimate_Mod

I use one from a vendor no longer here, it's a site that depends totally on FB invites..

Newt... that mod looks awful with that particular template.  Someone should fix that.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

Hell, I did well enough to fix that module from Deartmedia to still work.

I'm awful with colors and especially css work.

ps

I'm the only user of the module, it is a non member site. It's only used to import the events and groups.

Well hopefully those with new api keys from facebook issued after April 30'th won't have a problem getting facebook to approve the request for the needed permissions to import events. Your older keys will work until April 30th 2015, but then you also will have to go though facebooks permission approval process so you can use the module.

They continually deny requests for extra permissions for my facebook connect module to import photos and extra profile information. I have to pretty much scrap my facebook connect module and seperate the 3 areas where permissions are required just to try and appease the idiots at facebook so they may approve the requests. It's going to take me months to completely rewrite it. I am really beginning to hate facebook.

 DAMN!

Well I hope the module I suggested will work after that, I will purchase it then. Unless someone creates and "events" only importer. . .

And it does not work... look at the reviews.

This is a great idea, but I'm afraid it only works for me perhaps 3 times out of 10, and even then, the data is not complete. Would love to give it more stars, but 1 is about all I can do so far. Maybe when a decent update comes out...?

Worked fine, then stopped working, had Sven do remote access and made it worse. Started importing wrong pictures for events. It hasn't worked since. Very Sad :( I really liked the module, but can't enjoy it..

FaceSucks is not making the money they want; having billions of eyeballs does not automatically translate into revenue.  If people view imported content from FaceSucks on off FaceSuck sites, that is even less eyeballs on FaceSucks.  What is FaceSucks to do?  Block off FaceSucks sites of course.  In order to try and drive some revenue, FaceSucks is now making it where FaceSucks users have to pay FaceSucks to get content in front of their friends.

Deano, did you ever consider just the "event" import as a standalone module?

I may consider it when and if i ever get my new version of FB connect finished. However, i thought someone else already had an event importer. Could have sworn i saw one in the market.

 There are actually three.

These by Webby0815 (Facebook Auto Event Importer,) (Facebook Auto Event Importer for UE30,) and of course the full FB module done by mods4dolphin (Facebook Ultimate Mod - Dolphin 2 ) which is more than just the events importing.

The first two mentioned are very vague on how they work, involving creating an additional FB account just for  the module.

The demos are not on the admin side so you cannot see.

We also have tried to use the first one by webby but not successful.
