Instant messenger not working properly!

I have an issue with the instant messenger (presence page)

Basically it shows everyone online - when they are not!

It also connects you to the wrong person when you go through instant chat - instead of speaking to 'Bob' you end up speaking to 'Mary'??

I have tried with and without RMs - both the same!

Help!
