I need some help. I tried installing dolphin 7.0 today but the permission for the flash/modules/global/app/ffmpeg.exe file will not show that it has been changed on the install page however it has been changed to 755 on my server. for some reason it is not seeing that the permission is now changed. it still shows up in red on the install permissions install page so it will not let me go any further with the install. any ideas? is this a glitch or something.
thanks
Michael

The install is showing that the permissions for the file are wrong because they actually are. For ffmpeg.exe, you must allow this file to be executed. The appropriate permission level for this file is 777. Try changing it accordingly and attempt the installation again. thanks for the response. it's strange because i tried 777 too and it won't change to Executable it just continues to show non-Executable in red. i am in the correct directory too not sure why its doing it. Please visit michaelsofmaryland.com & fatwow.com |
does not look like my install is going to be successful until i figure out why this install won't except my permission change for this file. the file permission is set to 755 and is now Executable however when I click on check it still shows up non Executable in red on that file and will not let me continue on with the install. I tried re-installing the file, changing the permissions to different numbers, no luck. Please visit michaelsofmaryland.com & fatwow.com |

Are you positive that the permissions are 'sticking' at 777 and not reverting back? I've had issues before with changing permissions via FTP, where it will change the permissions as specified, only to revert it. Try changing it via your web host's file manager.

Check with your host if they accept ffmpeg to run. I shared servers mostly not. Kids first |
yeah i did go into my file manager and changed the permission there. i will check with my web host to see if they allow it to run. Please visit michaelsofmaryland.com & fatwow.com |
Where are you trying to change the permission level from? An FTP client or something like cPanel. If you are using an FTP client, try logging into your cPanel and change it from there.....If you are still having a problem.
