Insert .gif in footer

I must be doing something wrong. I had placed a .gif image in the footer of my site a few months. I am almost a 100% certain that I accessed the temp_uni footer file when I placed the last .gif there. I tried to add another .gif tonight in the same folder and nada. It didn't happen. I am thinking I didn't place it there last. Or possibly some CSS might be interfering with adding this new .gif. I have 2 .gifs in my footer now.

Am I accessing the right folder to insert my new .gif to the footer?

You can use templates/base/_footer.html or templates/tmpl_uni/_footer.html to place an image in your sites footer.

What is the code your using to try and insert it?
