Idea! GIF thumbnails for videos - Outline/Timeline

As we all know how Facebook is taking all the video traffic from YouTube, Not all but a big chunk. Reason behind it was the introduction of video preview while scrolling. So i was wondering how nice it would be if dolphin could have not the same but a similar strategy. That would be GIF thumbnails for the videos in Outline and Timeline. It will create an interest in people while they are browsing. Obviously the video will be played in view video page, so not the same load on bandwidth as facebook is getting due to full video preview. Yes it would create a load on servers for processing.

What do you think about this idea?

Interesting.  I would have it so that the gif image is only active when mouse over; although it is my understanding there is no hover on mobile devices.

For mobiles, scrolling up and down should inactive them. Wink

There should be an admin option to disable this.
