I want to HTML timeline, comments

How do I add HTML ability, so people can post like they do Facebook Timeline or profile? Currently adding something to timelines only adds link. Want it so it shows a preview or actual image, similar to Facebook

Don't you wish there was a User Guide? - Me too. Unfortunately Mr Boonex believed he could sell a program for almost $AU1000 and not supply a user guide. Anyone with good marketing sense such as Elgg, would have produced a user guide and sold it for $10. In the old days it would have been a best seller! Today you'd be lucky to sell five copies.

Okay, I have no idea as to how much you know about Dolphin, so don't be offended if I talk about stuff you already know.

There is a WALL which from my limited knowledge, looks like something you would find o FB. A vertical list of posts by your friends with the ability to comment. I have this on my profile page.

Then there is the Timeline which I think is great. I have this on my home page. The Timeline shows a snapshot of all posts from areas selected by Admin in the Timeline Module settings.

Unlike the wall, you can't comment on the timeline and I personally think that's the way it should be. The timeline isn't meant to be interactive, but you can like a post and there's provision to also comment on the post. However, when you click the comment button, it takes you to the actual post and you make your comment there. (See Pic 1) To me, that's an excellent approach. It saves the Timeline from being cluttered.

The wall is different and does in fact resemble the Wall on FB as far as I can recall. You have the ability to comment under each Wall entry and that comment stays with the entry. The original post remains unaffected.

(See Pic 2) As you'll see in the screenshot, there is provision to add a photo, but!

You must be a licensed user and you must install a module called Moxie Manager. Otherwise, when you click the photo icon, it will try to find the photo on the server. That's good for Admin, but nobody else. If you don't want to get a license, you can remove the icon in the Tinymce settings, but don't ask me how.

If you are a licensed user, your members can post comments like Photos 3 and 4.

Think I'm going to give the newest platform a try, UNA 11. It seems a lot more stable and totally on its own coding and platform system. If you have a Dolphin Pro License, they will transfer it over. I've been looking in to it and there is a huge benefits to upgrading to it. As well as they are stopping support for Dolphin in the next 2-3 years. I may keep my current site, but am going to start a new site with UNA 11.

Ya I'm a licensed user. Have been since 2013. I've got well over 12,000 invested. There used to be a mod, that allowed you to enter HTML code in to wall into walls or timeline. But that mod is no longer available for anything beyond v7.0.1.

It's extremely dangerous to allow members to enter HTML code anywhere. I couldn't even imagine what the timeline would look like if people could post comments there. I like it the way it is.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
