praveen, its not 100% accurate to assume that all setups are the same as what you would setup. in my years of using hosting services, shared VPS and dedicated, i have experienced different standards and techniques from a vast majority of hosting service providers.
so yes, it is logical to consider that due to the upgrade, the account would have been moved to a different server that is allocated for reseller accounts. so in zarcons quest for information, an inquiry of whether the environment has changed was logical. i too considered this immediately.
As she has upgraded to reseller hosting, I don't think there will be any change in the settings or environment. Because both shared hosting and reseller hosting differ in privileges only.
now as to why this has happened, there are variables that need to be considered:
if the environment changed from shared to resellar, which we can only presume, then on the shared platform, it could have been a more powerful machine, so that more accounts are able to be ran from it. if the provider has a certain configuration or allocation of equipment for resellar accounts, and the upgrade from shared to reseller ended up on a machine with less resources, then that would be why you would see the increased resource usage degradation. it may not be that you are using more resources, it could be that there are less resources on the new environment (if you are on a new environment).
the other reason this could be, is that by moving to a resellar account, you attracted attention to your site, and or server, and it was realized that you are using an excessive amount of resources.
i dont think the number of chatters you have on your site caused this situation, the infamous unaddressed XML.php file has been discussed much on this forum.
boonex has no answer for it.
